    Hi,

In the announcement of the unstable build, there were several lines about the exe and renaming them.
It may seem simple enough, but for me it's not.

As I understand it, you have to rename the exe (how?) and......well, just go?

Could someone elaborate on this a bit please? I want to do it proper.

Sorry if this is in the wrong subsection, but I didn't know where to put it as it's not a bug or an issue. Didn't want to put this in the "normal" section either.

    Thanks in advance!

There are 4 exe`s in the core folder.

To try the 64bit exe(s) remove the 32bit exe`s to another location and rename the 64bit exe(s) the same as the 32bit exe(s)

    EG - rFactor2 64bit rename to rFactor2.

Use the launcher to start rf2. :)

I just rename rFactor2.exe to rFactor2.exe.32 then rename rfactor2 x64.exe to rfactor2.exe. Then later if I want to go back to 32bit I just rename rfactor2.exe to rfactor2.exe.64 and then rfactor2.exe.32 to rfactor2.exe.

Also, if take note that the 64 bit EXEs are larger than the 32 bit ones.

WOW! What a difference. Loading time is super fast and the sim runs absolutely fantastic. Great work ISI! I'm loving RF2 more everyday.

I tried renaming as above but I still don't think it's running 64 bit. Afterburner shows d3d9 or whatever it says. How are you guys confirming 64 bit?

If you look under 'processes' in the the task manager, 32-bit processes will end in a *32, like 'rfactor2.exe*32'

It's probably running the 64 bit version if you changed the executable file names.

Hmm in task manager the launcher says 32 bit, rFactor2 just says rFactor2 v1.769. Can anyone else confirm what Afterburner is showing? I feel like it has to be running 64 bit but I'd like to confirm.

The launcher is 32 bit. You want to look for rfactor2.exe once it's running. I'm not familiar with Afterburner.

Bottom line is if you have renamed the 64bit exe's and moved the 32bit exe's out to another location then you have to be running 64bit, You will see no difference in how things look, maybe a few more fps as some have reported. Perhaps a faster load time (not seen this myself) If you have never had a memory issue with 32bit then it will all seem identical under 64bit. No sudden dramatic changes :)
