I recently started a thread about having a gear indicator by my wheel. Since doing a bit more research I've decided that I'd love to have my own custom dashboard. So, does anyone have one? Did you make it yourself? What did it cost? After a few emails from the kind bunch at http://simracinghardware.com/ and http://www.symprojects.com/ I think I've concluded that using the DLC-247 is the best but you need experience with wiring and programming which I have none. So, I'd love to hear some scenarios from you lot. All I want on mine is the gear that I am in, the speed I am doing, and the rev lights that indicate my RPM and when to change gear.
Hi If you have a spare android tablet you can use this app http://www.appszoom.com/android_applications/tools/dashmeterpro-for-rf2_bziuv.html Well worth the £4.80
I use this software on a spare android tablet http://www.appszoom.com/android_applications/tools/dashmeterpro-for-rf2_bziuv.html it works really well, and you can set up the screen to your liking.
Excluding the physical appearance was it difficult to do? Or is it pretty much plug and play? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It wasn't too hard; I bought all the cables from Simracing Hardware. The only hard part was that their instructions could be better. Figuring out how to connect everything took some thinking. Their forums were very helpful in that respect.
Thank you. I've emailed them and a guy there has said he will connect them for me. I'm getting a gear indicator, speedo, and 16 rev lights. Even though I'm not a hardcore sim racer I am looking forward to having these. I guess it'll improve the realism a bit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you. Yes I've ordered a speedo, gear indicator and 16 rev lights. The guy there said he'd assemble it for me but I still need to make my own base which is what I wanted anyways. Very Happy and it only came to £75. But it has room to expand if need be. I'll update this thread when things arrive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the info, Ive ordered the bits, jsut waiting for delivery then will have a go at putting it all together...
Let us know how you get on. I'm going for a slightly more expensive version. Ordering tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If it's useful, I went for a dashboard style when mounting the electronics rather than a button box or small enclosure for the SLI. Flatspotters pic shows you can do both equally well though. View attachment 13558
Yep! And one wire was unplugged. Still, I'm cool with it. I've never done anything like this before so I'm excited Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
