    hi'

    it's been a moment since I can't launch RF2...
I uninstall all, suppress the rf2 folder, clean the registry of obsolete entries,
then, installed the 660, check the vcredist(x86), launch the update tab for check, and it tells me, that something failed...
so, uninstalled again, clean all as well, and decided to install the 590, so did I,
    then launch it, white screen!
ran the update via the launcher, did it alright, and then, launch, and white screen!!
    uninstall all, etc....
reinstall the 660, and checked all, no problem, except that there is still a failed files....
    and guess, white screen again!!!

I run out of ideas, tried install in C:\Programs Files (x86), same result!
    permissions are fine.
I don't have a single clue why it's like this...

any help is very welcome .... buy some aspirin first ;)

    I see...
25 views, and not a word...
I begin to have an idea of where I'm going to store this RF2...

I should have get my money back when it was possible... there is no way to make this rf2 working as it was before this update 660!
    I'm done!

    error: something failed

is that what it said? or can you be more specific?

Did you double check Configure Sim in the launcher to see if its the right graphics card, resolution etc?

also 2 days it not that long, dev's don't browse here 24/7, give it a wee bit more time.

as I said, in the update tab, there's a check tab too, so to be sure everything was ok, and at the end of the check, it says ; "(just today...)", all files are ok, passed the check.
but still at lauch, this fu****** white screen came back....
I didn't see anyone with a similar problem, and this makes me worry a bit....
you're right, I'll wait a few days more....

Can't help thinking its graphics card related. even though I am not a tech guy. did you double check configure sim yes/no?
And have you been tweaking settings in the card or are you overclocking?

    can't give up so fast....
I tried to install the lite version alone, no update... (no protection!)
    result, WHITE SCREEN!!
and RF2 is the one and only program that give problem, al other sim progs are fine at full range of details...
so, what's up with failed files from update from any side, lite, full, via launcher??

it seems that it's a challenge, non need of everyday repair, usual etc...
    it's very specific!

Have you tried renaming your rfactor folder in documents and or your credentials folder in roaming called .rfactor.

Try renaming them <name>_bak and just see if it changes anything.

In that order as well, first documents/rfactor try the game no luck? then try your roaming/.rfactor

    thanks anyway...

    lol you said a joke wasn't a joke :)

Any way, did you try renaming the folders, each one with a test launch of rf2 in between.

You get 5 activations ... I don't see the problem using another.

This probably has something to do with the where rf2 is installed. I think there were mentions of permissions etc in this thread.

Have you tried deleting qt\plugins\sqldrivers manually? I am not at home so can't see if that is a standard component. Presume it must be else why is it trying to remove it :)

Feel free to back it up manually, but it sounds like all your permissions could be wrong.

How did you get rfactor on that drive? Installed as a different user? Installed as an administrator. Copied over an existing installation.

Hey happy to help lol, last time I do for you though with that kind of response.

I did state it was probably already mentioned because, yes it was.

I subtly re-hinted the thing I thought to be around the cause of the issue, the location and permissions. I also encouraged you to manually perform the action the log was failing.

Rhetorically speaking "it's all in the output, you could of solved it long ago"

In fact I have no idea whether it is fixed or isn't. What is Tim expected to do now. Your lack of courteous response and strange attitude to demand I will put down to some kind of language barriers. ;) won't lighten my mood. That's as good as "I don't mean to be rude but... "
