    Hi guys

I'm quickly running out of space on my one and only internal drive (SSD), so I'm looking to expand by installing another drive.
rFactor 2 is a real space eater, my "packages" are up to 18 gigs and I want to move that folder to the new drive.

How should I go about this?
Do I uninstall everything in the mod manager first, then move the folder and install everything after that?
Or can I move the folder without uninstalling and just change the packages directory in the mod manager?

Cheers and thanks in advance :)

    This.

I have different packages folders for ISI stuff, tracks, vehicles, etc. No problems at all.

    Awesome. That's easy then.
BTW what does the little "X" next to the packages directory in the mod manager mean?

It deletes the current folder from the list.

How about packages in general, can I delete them after they're installed? Files are then already in gamedate etc so are packages needed anymore? My rF2 already takes 32.7Gb so it's quite large.

You can, but if you need to reinstall them again, you will have to download them again.

Other thing which has wondered me is that when you have some mod/track v1.0 and you then install v1.1 and so on, older version stays there. Why manager doesn't delete older version
    automatically?

Because it is not supposed to.
You install / uninstall what you want. You could be using two different components in different vmods. Apart from that, there are also updates to content.
Get used to it and know what you do. It is the best advice.

I burn the new downloads to cd-rw and delete newly installed components from packages. Even with BES mod, only 12.2 GB rF2 folder...nice and light.

My packages folder isn't even on my gaming puter... It is on a networked server in my home network. No problems adding content at all.

Okay so if I understand this correctly, I only need the packages for installing and uninstalling mods?
When installing a package, everything is copied into the rF2 data folder, and the sims loads it from there?
The sim doesn't "read" anything from the packages themselves when I race?

You only need the data to install the mod, once it is installed you may delete the downloaded mod (if you want). You can uninstall a mod with mod manager even if you deleted the original downloaded mod from packages. I also keep everything I have ever downloaded on a network drive and point btsync to the same folder to keep track content updated mostly automatically.

I do the networked Packages folder thing too. My "server" has all current packages and some older versions too archived.
