Please pass it on if you could. Would be nice to have a decent setup for Indy.

    Hi Folks,

Having got v1.65, even if I pick a road config in tuning, when I go in the garage it is obviously an oval setup, how can it be set to a road setup in the garage?

    Thanks

select your configuration (road) then select the button "force setup".

Hmm, tried that and still getting oval options in the garage once into the event.

Can't believe this is oval only because it mentions Road Course stuff in the release notes.

The car has parameters to load it into oval or road course on a bunch of tracks. What track are you trying to run? Palm Springs maybe? When there are no parameters set, it should follow the user selection.

Ok think that is the problem.

I was using Barber MS Park, and that was only setting to oval.

Switched to Brands Hatch, and that then by clicking on Force Setup gave me Road options in the garage.

Will have to check my tracks now and see what works and what doesn't as it looks like an oversight in the creation of Barber, as the game would appear to think it is an oval from this point of view.

    Thanks

Barber was made/updated at the time of the initial IndyCar DW12 release and has a file in it (carconfig or God knows what it's called) which forces the IndyCar to run aero kit 4 (i think it was). Aero kit 4 was the road course config in the first DW12 release, but with the previous update the order got switched around, meaning now the Oval aero kit is #4. Because of that, no matter what you try, Barber will "force" you onot the oval kit. Eighter your gonna have to dig into the Barber track files and rip that "carconfig" file out, or hope that Barber will get an update which takes that file out.

    Hope that made sense :p

Yep that makes perfect sense and reflects the issues I have had, no matter what i selected Barber only gave Oval aero.

Been chatting to Tim Wheatley so will highlight this, but sounds like the track itself needs an update, which is not an ISI one?

If so will contact the author to advise.

I just want updated aero kits to match the 2016 look also the cars seem to have more downforce than the isi version

    hi,
we are planning a race on Indy oval in our championship, and after many laps and days of driving, during the qualifying session, my teammate and i have noticed that the fuel filling hole is on the wrong side of the car on the oval config and Indy 500 config.

Will it be possible in a future update to fix it ?

    1st solution
==> 1°) update and put fuel filling hole on good side of car on oval config and indy500 config (left side)
==> 2°) put it on both side on road course config that way there is no matter of the track pitwall side.

    2nd solution
=> put it in the genstring: additionnal line in upgrade selection (tunning menu)

Talking about accuracy; it would be nice to have actual working turbo's in there instead of just "no pressure giving, spinning pieces of iron just for the sound".........

I am getting rather frustrated with the glacial pace of updates from ISI. I understand they have other irons in the fire but a DW12 with STILL no weight jacker, still no P2P, and no adjustable boost while some of these options exist in other community mods just floors me.
