Hallo, please forgive me for my bad english I wanna start a dedicated Server. Everything works, People can join. Exept me. I only can join with "local connection" is it possible for me to join "normaly" over the Internet? Thx in advance
This is normal; you are joining over a local connection, so you need to tick that in order to join. I think this was recently mentioned as something the next build will fix (you won't need to select it, it will work it out automatically).
I have the same question I have ran a dedicated server in rfactor for many years, CRL Cactus Racing. I was able to logon Lan and every else by internet. As of yet i have not found out how to do this in rfactor 2 I would appreciate a little advice in this matter Thanks, Cactus
As above, there is no longer a LAN button; it should 'just work'. Can you give more info? Are you running the server on your gaming PC, or on its own machine? Are you using the dedicated.exe? Have you changed the two ports in the multiplayer.ini? What are the local IPs of your machines? Anything else you think might help...
I may have to give you the info in spurts if that is ok Please remember my systems worked great for many years in rFactor, server ran 24/7, with my league races on the server also First of all I have Road Runner, my up for now is 2.20 mg, my down is 16.25 mg I have 2 computers, 8 gb, AMD quad core 2.30 Ghz They are both going through a router. The server is DMZ, all ports are open Other members and quests would logon through the internet, and I would logon LAN because there was that choice in rFactor 1 I am starting the server through rFactor Launcher with the host selection I really appreciate the help you are giving me, and I will answer all questions. I am just figuring out rFactor 2, and my work is interfering with me doing that Thanks again, Steve
Lazza you inspired me, I figured it out. It was probably the server settings for up and down It works great and you are right, it is logging me by LAN because my lag is 3 mil's I believe it would be a lot higher if I was going in and out of my router to the internet Thanks for the inspiration, Steve, Cactus
