I have over 2000 cars and probably close to 1000 tracks in GT Legends. All downloaded automatically and updated (when a new car/track comes out) through some program called Altbierbude or something. It actually works brilliantly and makes it so easy, it's probably the reason why most of my online play still lies with GT Legends, because when you have over 2000 cars and close to 1000 tracks it's always a brand new experience. Running all these amazing tracks from all sorts od different time periods (who knows, i bet a ton of them are fantasy tracks too, but who even knows lol). The out of game program makes sure you are all up to date with all the cars/tracks.You always have the car/track being raced on their servers. So it's possible 3rd parties can develop all this stuff.
Yeah that would be a good system. Unlike rF GTL GTR I would have liked rF2 to have some standard for file and track naming and their location in folder and menu. For instance if everyone stuck to same format you could have all Fantasy tracks under Fantasy, all Ovals under Ovals , etc. etc. In the above sims would have cut down on scrolling huge lists......... another trying to find some track folder is not named as the download or the track menu name at all. ! lol GPL had a 8 character limit for track name so you can excuse it. lol
but none of this would stop illegal stuff so is rsrf or whatever shut down b/c illegal stuff or because war on inefficiency?
