Take all the time you need Yoss. If you need a tester [emoji4] i'm available. No modding capabilities but some knowledge of cars and driving physics i have.
Today I started to declutter the Z06 gen file. The result is a nice improvement in fps performance. It's hard to express it in numbers, because it depends on the number of cars on the track and the limitations of the Computer used to render the scene. A quick test with 19 AI cars at Oregon Raceway Park showed an improvement by 100% (old gen file 24 fps, new gen file 48 fps). If I don't had to care about external zoom cameras the improvement would be much higher. It is useless to render cockpit button panels at 100 meter distance (lod them out!). I also started to adjust the first materials (wccarbody, wcwindow). The screen shots shows the maximum possible reflection for the new material settings (white alpha). It is always possible to reduce the reflection for each car by darken the alpha channel of the skin dds file.
It is possible to have a dirt buildup animation texture-wise (like with rFactor before)...but this far away from being dynamic! ISI had included everything of dynamic things but disabled them (dirt and damage textures can be found in materials of older ISI content)... maybe because of performance issues (like with the weather). So maybe these things will return in future!? @Tosch Looks really great! Again a advanced setup of textures and materials generates a complete different but stunning look!! Anyhow this directly shows some missing things like shadings on the grills etc...but good things come to those who wait
Wow. Amazing shots. Now I hold my breath until this masterpiece is released. This is shocking great[emoji16] Gesendet von meinem GT-I9301I mit Tapatalk
it's a shame that i have to switch off reflection with my vga the 458 look gorgeous, I can't imagine all that reflection porn in movement Glad to see your works thanks
Glad to hear that there should be a pretty good FPS boost. It is one of the reason's I don't drive the mod as much as I would like. Looking great!
To have the mod looking like this and having the Sim simulating the way it does, why would you buy any other racing sim, all it needs now is the wind in your hair and the exhaust fumes lol.
Fatcity : for the smoking exhaust thing exist on rf2 , for the wind in the hair sorry i can't do nothing
I am. Color, brightness and saturation is spot on. The alpha channel with the darkened side works excellent with my sick reflection settings. I have to darken some things here and there, but these are all minor corrections. The only map where I make bigger changes is the spec map for the body. I would like to see a similar amount of specular reflection on all parts of the car, so I have to make the sides a bit brighter and to reduce jaggies, the edges of the of rear wing a bit darker.
A question tot Apex on the physics side. Were you able to make tire improvements/changes based on the new Camaro tires? Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
Hum i'm not sure the new camaro contain cpm 2.5 or 3.0. Seem that they change a lot of another things We surely inspect .
Well, all they say on the official changelog is that it has CPM http://rfactor.net/web/2015/11/08/chevrolet-camaro-gt3-v1-6-now-available/
