Race Rejoin issue: Can rejoin, but can not see other cars & can collision whith them

    Hello,

    Im talking in the name of ACESIM.ES, Non Profit Asociation of rFactor communities / leagues in Spain.
    We have just finished our LeMans endurance race in rfactor1 (12 hours; 40 cars; 4 categories; 4 driver in each car). And now we are moving to rFactor2 to make our next endurance (Nordschleife; 6hours; 30 cars; 2 categories; 3-4 drivers in each car)

    After after learn how to make and edit components, mods, virtual mods, download links to missing components, updates, skins, ... everything we need to make a serious endurance race we are now scared whith the rejoin option :S

    We are testing the server and use Race Rejoin="1" and Race Rejoin="2". It works like it says; "1" rejoin whitout damages and "2" whith your damages.

    But when someone rejoin to the race after a connection lost, the people running in race can not see this rejoined car.
    The rejoined car is in the race again; his timing works fine, and he can see the other cars. But people inside the server can not see the rejoined cars , and of course, they can collision whith them. You dont know someone is on your left, but he is there; you turn left and PUM! ...

    We are moving from rfactor1 to rfactor2 just because the rejoin option. When you make a 12 hours endurance race with rfactor1, mostly 35% of the drivers can not finish because of conection losts when drivers swap.

    We see the light whith the rejoin option in rfactor2, and force people to move to it, but now we are in darkness again :(

    Anyone know how to solve it?

    Build 218:
    - Changed it so clients joining during the race session will now load cars in the garage whose drivers have left; this is a precursor to being able to rejoin race sessions after a disconnect. A positive side effect of the fix is that we can now have more than 32 AIs in multiplayer (if the mod, track, and network settings allow). A negative side effect is that a player converted to AI doesn’t exit until a new track is loaded; for example, you can leave or get disconnected during a race, only to rejoin and see a duplicate of yourself driving around as an AI if the weekend was restarted. That will be addressed in the near future.

    build 228:
    Added basic race rejoin after disconnect, which must be enabled on the server to work (with the multiplayer.ini setting “Allow Race Rejoin”). Currently you just get a new car in the garage.

    build 240:
    Made parking box work when swapping drivers.

    build 298:
    Work-in-progress on restoring vehicle state upon race rejoins (server optional).


    I'm guessing they are still working on it

    Thanks Denstjiro for your answer.

    So there is not a way to solve this problem; the rejoin option is not working because is not finished. We thought rfactor2 was out of BETA, but it is still an unfinished game.

    We will be looking to every build to see when this option is finished. Leagues, Communities and Asociations who make endurance races (more than 6 hours races) need this option.

    Hi Lucky06,

    In the website forum there is a closed forum called "6H Nordschleife 2014". When the registration will open, the forum will be open and in the mainpage will be the info and requirements to register to this race.
    If the things are like 12hLemans, the registration must be done by a team representing a racing team or a racing league / community and with 2 or 3 drivers in the car.
    If you have any question to register, or translate, can send private message to the acesim forum admin who open the posts.
