Hi i'm a new user and i just downloaded and install the demo. I launch the program and press the purchase tab but can't see any demo start button as described in point 3 on the homepage

    http://rfactor.net/web/rf1/buyonline2/

Anyone here who knows how to do?

It you are interested in distribution/selling this game then why not ensure such important simle thing as trying the demo is working?. A lot of potentially users will just go on to another game i guess - pity :-(..

    Regards Magnussen

Which version of the game are you actually trying to use the demo for? You posted in the rFactor 2 forum but linked to the rFactor 1 Demo Page.

    Regards

They will probably re-upload the demo as it seems there may have been a mistake in release :)

Created new admin user for Windows 7 and installed there. It creates .rFactor folder but no files inside (I'm assuming there should be some). Tried with my purchased user data and demo itself is working just fine. New Corvette is still handling very nicely! :)

If you previously purchased rF2 and were refunded, etc, it knows. People who haven't hopped in and out can try the demo just fine. Those of you who have previously had rF2 would need to remove your credentials from your purchase to go back and try the demo.

Works here even with a valid purchase, I'm logged out, delete my credentials, install the demo and it works as a demo.

Might it be something related to Windows 8? Is having a "-" in the PC username a possible problem?

No. If it couldn't find the credentials, it would always be in demo mode.

Have you actually found them? Three files in an .rFactor folder?

Yes, I did remove the .rFactor folder and everytime I start the launcher it gets created again (even if it's empty). I've just downloaded the demo package and nothing else.

Did you uninstall and reinstall the demo after unlocking it?

Yes, I tried to reinstall it a couple of time. The demo didn't work from the very beginning: on the PC I installed it there never was a rFactor 2 installation. It was the very first intall of anything related to rF2.

Yes, I logged in with my account and I unlocked the online icon (not the image) reporting I was connected. None of the images became colured, though.

I don't think it's good idea to delete this thread because there may be people with broken demo. Hmm, or maybe putting new sticky thread on top notifying about the issue...
