Hey guys, I'm in desperate need of assistance. I purchased rFactor 2 last night, and have been running it some today. I have an AMD 8320 OC'd to 4 GHz, a 7950 3 GB OC'd to 1050 MHz, and I can only run about 25-35 FPS at 1920*1080 at maxed settings and 20 AI. Am I doing something just horrifically wrong with this game? iRacing runs, completely maxed settings, at 100-300 FPS on my rig and looks SIGNIFICANTLY better. GSC2013 runs much better, and I think looks better than rFactor 2, even. I don't get it.

    Can someone please help?

I noticed that my 7950 overclocking from amd overdrive controlpanel gives me poor performance. i put gpu clock to 1000 and memory clock to 1300 and gives me around 50 fps. And if i run without overclock 950 gpu and 1250 memory gives me 90. Try to desactivate the "Active Graphicsoverdrive box".

    Welcome to rf2,

It takes some tinkering to get rf2 running ok ( ok not brill ), rf2 actually doesn't look to bad at lower resolutions which helps a lot, also turn off Fxaa , HDR is fine, turn off (or very very low ) AA

It still will not run as well as other titles, but we can only hope new builds will improve things

    +AI does kill performance a tad too ( I don't really use AI )

Man, that's disappointing. I can run BF4 on Ultra at over 60fps, but not rFactor? :(

Turn off Antialiasing / Use FXAA as it's cheaper :)

My GTX670 OC does better then that graph.

Some idea of Processor and core speed would be handy.

I used to have an sli setup, I found that always keeping one gpu off was better,

Even in cases where fps was better with sli ( 2 gpu's on ), I think the extra frames were simply duplications of old ones , it wasn't so fluid etc

Try nvidia 327. Drivers they work best for me ( I use a single gpu now )

    Low resolution keeps me going
( agreed though hope optimisations come to bring rf2 closer to other titles in performance wise )

Yeah, that looks very wrong compared to what the FSP counter in rF2 (and FRAPS) shows me too.
How many AI cars would be good info to give with it too. If that was alone on the track, something is very wrong with their performance.

    I don't get this? I have i5 3570 running 4.1ghz windows 7 x64 ultimate. 4gb crucial ballistix, Asus hd6870 direct cu with z77 mobo.
I can and do run rfactor2 @ 1080 i never get less than 55-60 fps minimum even at starts! I just checked for my reference, 32 cars at fuji (formula 3.5) with hdr and fxaa with settings at max, (i turned off sun occlusion) fps goes over 100 once racing. I have latest amd drivers (not 12.11 cap) that seems to help others?
Funny thing is this - Last week i swapped processor from i7 3770k to i5, changed mobo from z68 to z77 and the game was massively better/faster?? Before i struggled to get 50fps at all. I know the asus hd6870 is better than a regular hd6870 but looking at the graph it out performs about half of those cards in real life?
I really cannot understand where the performance has come from, The i7 isn't a slouch, Did the z77 mobo make the difference? I dunno.

Think this absolutely validates my need to swap from my 3GB 7950 to an Nvidia card!

rF2 runs poorly on AMD video cards. Known issue with the game.

Indeedy, however given my contract has just finished I need to justify spending out on a new card. Do I? :-]

Might wait till it can get delivered when no one else is about LOL.
