Nevermind it worked after a second install

 

Didnt get any change in FPS with this Its like its not running. I know it because of the frame counter. Ill just use CCC. I use in game AA and get better FPS with that

 

SMAA does nothing in rF2, neither in rF1.

Do you have to run rF2 from the RadeonPro launcher or are the changes made automatically when you start rF2 normally ?

 

The only thing that has to be open RadeonPro, if in the background you open directly from the rFactor2 Launcher and has to work perfect, if not try the following: Tweaks tab looking down and click the box disable aero, then save and run from the rFactor 2 Launcher, and if it is working you will see that it disables aero win 7.....if you have win 7...

 

Ya just save/apply settings in radeon pro. As long as you have it minimized to the system tray or whatever it's called you can start the game from the exe, from a shortcut, don't matter.

Has anyone tried the ambient occlusion in RFactor 1? It's on the list of officially supported titles. Supposedly adds more depth to objects and more shadows....

So where are we regarding ATI cards these days?

Thinking of upgrading my GPU in the near future. And this is the only game where it seems to hurt by being ATI owner for me

Wish it wasnt so. They are so much cheaper.

Nvidia is going out with a new lineup in a week or two. With a little bit of luck I can get a decent bargain on an old used premium card.

Maybe nvidia 780 with 4gb of ram or a powerfull high end ATI.

So where are we regarding performance wise with ATI these days?

 

Folks says that is a little better with couple of last drivers, but in your place i will simply buy 780 and don't look back Really it's not worth the hassle.

 

So many cheap old btc mined cards out there...

grrr. How bad can mined cards be really.

Also, everyone has warranty, at least one year+ for me to check it out and try to see if it is bad. Otherwise, just replace it under warranty.

 

bit coin miners were running 100% for months straight, no downtime. It would be like buying a car that was a rental, cab, or cop car.

 

Ya but cards don't really slow down. Also, I thinkin mining uses low memory clocks (or core clocks, 1 of the 2). Having said that, the new GTX 970 is $350 if you don't want to spend much.

 

So any conclusion about whether SMAA works with rF2? I'd like to try it (using RadeonPro), but unlike all the other settings that work nicely, SMAA seems to do nothing whether on (Ultra) or off.
