I've been able to make rfmods for 18 months without any problems, lately it has gotten slower and slower to load until this morning it has just plain stopped working.
How can I fix this, it has happened to a few of my racing buddies too so it would be great if there was a quick fix.

    SS

edit: I've just had a chat with Intel and have emptied my "pkginfo.dat" file and I can do rfmods again.
Big thanks for your help guys
BTW file size was 262 KB

First reports I'm seeing of this. Build 300? How does it crash? Any particular trigger or pattern?

yes, build 300, (mas2.exe...ver2.91q)there are 9 of us at xfactorracing.com, we all have same problem, program has encountered an error, and option to debug....normal crash.(I am using win7 ultimate 64bit)
Over the last few weeks, mas2.exe has been getting slower to load, then, all of a sudden it crashes when loading, this is happening to ALL of us, and now none of us can create VMODs at all, I can still create track / car rfcmp's, but not VMODs

I have tried re install, didnt help, also tried another instance of mas2.exe, and replaced with new one...no effect...still crashes, tried reinstal with just one ISI track and ISI car...still crashes, tried with and without MODDEV, as well...same still crashes

    cheers

For me i works fine in build 300. Extracted MAS, packed MAS, created simgle component packages - it didn't crash a single time.
You should describe what you doing step-by-step and moment when it crashes.
Also did you tried to disable UAC for a test?

Excuse the question, but just to be sure, which Version of the MAS-Utility are you using?

I mean the Version that is shown when you click on "HELP" and "About MAS Ut..." in the menu of the MAS-Utility.

I have created many track mods...so I am competent and understand fully how it works, as far as VMODS, I have created hundreds, same again, I do know how to use mas2.exe, many of the racers I race with, WE ALL HAVE SAME PROBLEM, and we ALL have created hundreds of VMODS and rfcmp mods as well

redapg, you, need to read my post, it says what version...build 300, and kev, so has mine for many months, as with my friends, ever since the last build, each one of us has mas2.exe, crashing, one by one, we have discussed this amongst us, and have tried many things to eliminate, PC or OS problems, we think its a bug, in the game....not sure....but there are a lot of us out there in the same situation....................................

That's better. However, more information is still needed.
How many rfmods you have there? Did it slow down after adding rfmods or just visiting this dialog caused this? Etc...

@INTEL48 Btw, your MAS2.exe is not latest version.

just creating VMODs fail, the nas2.exe file I have is from build 300 lite, has there been an update to it?, I installed rf2 on my laptop, I CAN create vmods on that computer, did that tonite, still doesnt explain why it crashes on my gaming computer.I am up to clr1113 vmods created....is there a limit to the amount of vmods able to be created?

tim, I have tried just ISI content and still the same, so I dont think its any third party mods .

@INTEL48 No direct answers on questions again, huh?.. Can you tell how many entries you have in the list here: View attachment 10471 on machine where mas utility crashes???

@Tim Wheatley To me it looks like some kind of overflow while enumerating components (or rfmods) during loading of component/mod creating/editing dialog. I noticed that loading became slower and slower significantly as i creating more components (cannot say anything on rfmods though, didn't work with them yet). Now i have about 15 components in the list and loading takes about 20 - 30 seconds.

    Did you read my post?
I didn't ask for the version of the build, i asked for the version of the MAS-Utility.
    Mine for example is "2.91t".

And please note, all people that are posting here, just try to help.

you might be onto something there....all of us at xfactorracing have found that it takeslonger to load...then in the end crashes,
I just cleaned out that folder, had approx 60 files in it c:\users\intel\appdata\roaming\~mastertemp....still crashed

There seems to be different versions of mas2.exe, 2.91q is the version I have.....got that from build 300, where do you get latest mas2.exe from?
