Vote your top 10 tracks from the options made available. If we get enough votes then we pick the top 10 of this poll for our first season.

Notice that the car poll is still open for two days. Current leader is Howston by a large margin so you should pick the track to suit at least the Howston cars...

I will keep this poll open for few days and then we announce things.

    - Matt

Edit: there's a typo, It's of course Watkins Glen (not Geln)

Plus you can also give a vote to Essington and modern Spa by posting here...

I will take these into account

And the list is based on the current quality of these tracks...if there will be new tracks or updates in the near future then I will consider something out of this list.

I also forgot to add Essington to the list...

This all depends on how many drivers you will have. Don't pick by which tracks you like best. 10 cars on Spa will make for a terribly boring race. But 10 Howstons on LRP would provide a lot more excitement and racing even if you don't like the layout as much.

-Lots of drivers (over 20) choose F1 length tracks like Spa and Silverstone

-10-20 drivers choose medium length tracks like Mid-O and Putnam

-10 or less choose the smallest of tracks that the Howstons would run on like LRP and Barbagallo.

If everyone who choose Houston car sign in, then already there 19 drivers.
Ii understand your point, but i think 20 drivers is good for long tracks too.

Would you care to explain more? Wouldn't layout / flow affect this more than length? Are you saying literally the length of the track (because possibly of traffic/lapping other racers) or because shorter tracks tend to be tighter so cars don't spread out as much? Or both? Or something else? Be gentle as I am not a racing expert. Also wouldn't variation in quality of driving make such a specific rule of thumb inaccurate?

You can have tight races also on long tracks. The track lenght isn't the direct cause of big gaps in longer circuits. Lenght of a track is usually only a indirect cause for bigger gaps because it's harder to learn and master a longer track, so more places to separate drivers... those who have more time to practice will usually be faster on longer tracks. But there is a positive side to this also: because there are always places where you can improve or lose, there are also chances to catch somebody or be caught by somebody if you don't stay focused.

Imo the track lenght isn't a big problem here, more important is to have equal rivals for everyone. It can also be fun at the back of the grid if you aren't there entirely alone.

All in all I would say that if we are aiming for tight races then track lenght doesn't matter the more the field is equally matched in terms of performance.

Not sure I explained my feelings so that everybody understood :D

No registration needed there, just post in the "sign up" page. It's still quiet because we haven't locked the car and track choices which will happen at the end of this week.

Thats one factor that i forget to consider is car speed/long straights.
No matter if there is 15 or 30 drivers. It´s boring.
Lets say if there is a gap between you and next driver that you not able to catch slip stream, make the race extremely boring.
Lose account of many times i crashed in old Spa driving alone with slow cars due to losing concentration.

Can I vote for Loch Drummond? :) I think it is a much better combo than Mid-OH since you can at least get into 3rd gear, or for that matter even change gears. Mid-OH is almost all second gear.

Those who sign up have a chance of replacing top 10 tracks if that's the will of the most.
