This track, imo, would be great for the for just about all cars specifically designed with road racing in mind. I hope someone will build a fresh rFactor 2 quality Road America track.

Is there a Road America (AKA Elkhart Lake) available or converted for rF2?

the edge of the road was always to high compared to the grass as soon as you stepped half a wheel off it would pull you and most of the time spin you ..... rf2 would make that worse

other than that yes its a great track to drive

ahh no Elkhart Lake ie Road America in rf1 had a shocking edge on the road correct me if i'm wrong ... You stepped off it and it pulled you further

there's a few versions out there in rf1 every 1 I have is the same track just modified, same edge on the road

as a conversion it makes the road edge worse ... i know

and yes ealkhart lake ie road america is a great track to drive

i did here of it being redone tho :p

Sorry R1cho, that post looked out of context like you were posting in the wrong thread.

I miss the Simbin version, that was a nice track. I can't believe there weren't more rf1 versions!

Ah well, maybe we'll get a good version sometime.

There is a little bit of an edge there in real life, its always been like that, id like to see a scratch version, all the rf1 versions were not right

The fast turns make it great for openwheelers as well. It's a great all around track. IMO a hastily made conversion would not do this track justice though.

all good guy I don't type clear enough sometimes.. alot .. lol ...

V8's are good at road america too .... the edge of the road is square and in some points, what would be atleast 10-15 centimetres in real life and with the collision model as it is on most cars they'd bottom out severely on that edge .. then add the sink in the grass to.... thats all that let down the rf version's and that turn 2 left corner was a female dog lol

Ethone from VirtueLM was working on a detailed version from scratch. I don't think he has worked on it in a while though.

Definitely would like to see RA added to the game. IMO, it's one of the top racetracks in the US.

Is there any news on the possibility of a new, native rFactor 2 version of Road America? I'm hoping for a track matching the quality of an ISI official release or something like VLM Mid-Ohio. The only tracks I've seen are older conversions which don't seem to have the proportions or the general feel of the track quite right.

Go here and start stirring up a demand for this. http://www.trackcreation.net/devdiary/?cat=35

Ethone got a good percentage of a scratch version into rF1 with crazy amounts of detail and then brought it into rF2 in a pretty rough state. I think he's still messing around with and perfecting Le Mans right now, but if enough people are interested, it may motivate him to start working on it again. It's been a year or two since I've heard anything on it.

Dennis, If you see this, I have GPS data (X, Y, and Z coordinates) I'll be sending you if it helps you any.
