It hapened to me several times when I had some community tracks with bugs in it.

You should try to uninstall in the mod manager other mods than ISI ones, and if all is OK like I think, just add other ones one by one (cars and/or tracks).

Does it say that rfactor2 has stopped responding?

If you have some dodgy tracks (you don't have to get rid of all of them) they can cause issues and dodgy mods as well. you have to work your way backwards and uninstall the most recent tracks and mods you installed. Also after you do this, don't use All Tracks and Mods, load up a known good working rfmod you already have installed.

I get that on a few tracks. It's usually an interaction of cars and tracks that does that. It's hard to find out where the problem is, so I just delete the tracks that don't load, but you should start by removing cars first to see if that fixes the problem.

:/

daz1975; Did you manage to find out which mod caused issues for you? How many items do you have installed?

Hi all, no doubt this has been posted elsewhere but I can't seem to find an answer.
As far as I can work out, since build 300 and in unstable 339, when I go to race, I start to go down pit row and on to track and then my PC shuts down, not just crash to desktop, but shuts down completely!
It only happens withRF2, I have uninstalled all non ISI mods and tracks and still no good. I have changed drivers and still no good.

It did it in 300 and I uninstalled some non ISI tracks and things seemed to be ok, now it does it every time with both builds.

Its giving me the sh1ts as I can't use it at all now.

Please, if you have an answer let me know.
My pc is an AMD 965 BE with 16 gig of ram and a 2 gig 7870 hd vid card.
I,m pretty sure its not a hardware thing since it was working fine and everything else works fine, RF1 runs like a dream.

I also have 3 monitors but its not that either.

I will uninstall everything and try again to see how it goes but if there is a fix out there somewhere it would be much appreciated.

You say you uninstalled some tracks............so you never did a fresh install ? ( ..........oh my )

Assuming your rFactor2 folder is "rFactor2"

1. Rename your rfactor2 to rFactor2bak

2. Install a FRESH BUILD 300 "LITE" in rFactor2

3. Add only ISI CONTENT

4. I be very surprised if it does not work 100%

5. Copy over your saved setups and skins , controller config, yadda , yadda

6. After you test then you can add 3rd party tracks and mods but do it slow and test between.

If you stick to doing that you should never have a problem, even if it takes extra time I prefer to reinstall everything, takes barely 10 minutes.

You need to check your PC. Hard shutdowns are caused by hardware these days, not software. Overheating? Bad memory?

Ok I think you may be right here, last night after reinstalling drivers and uninstalling both 300 and 339 vers of RF2, I went to try Bioshock Infinite and bang, about 3 secs into play my pc shut down again, so in your case its good news but in min, lol, I'll need to check things out.

Once again, thanks for the reply and thanks to Durge as well.

Install CoreTemp and MSI Afterburner and monitor the temp of the cores and GPU in your taskbar. Start the game in windowed mode to keep looking at the temps. Do a memory test in the BIOS. ;P
