Wondering if anyone can shed any light on why my skins do not show when racing online. A few weeks ago, my skin for the meganes were showing occasionally. I haven't changed anything and cannot see a setting anywhere to fix this. Does anyone else experience this? Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Boydet.
I have had this. And still do, but I know how to solve it. Do you find that the clio ckins are ok, but vettes and meganes are not? Either way, unless you have some separate problem your looking at a reinstall I am afraid. Even more strange, I found that the problem affects the content build but not the lite build. Reinstall from lite unless you find something different out.
nikos is also correct - to the best of my memory a skin can have 10 chars (it used to be 13) and must contains the text 'alt' if it works on some cars and not other tho, its the same prob i had, you gotta reinstall Skins just stop working someitmes it seems
Same here, I had skins for at least 4 or 5 cars for league racing, with build 300 they stopped showing. All 6 letter names, all working prior, nothing new except build. Had to do 2 fresh installs of lite build before they worked again.
What do you mean with fresh install? A) installed lite build on a new location B) installed content build on a new location C) installed lite build on an existing location unistalling previously. D) installed content build on an existing location unistalling previously. E) installed lite build on an existing location overwriting content. F) installed content build on an existing location overwriting content. For me a fresh install is only A). The others might give problems if components are left. I dont think that doing a second fresh install would work if the first one didn't. I think there is something that you did in a different way the second time. Edit: i just saw you used lite. For me it was A a totally fresh install. This is what I think happened. If you look at what lopsided said in other thread, he installed, installed again, problem persisted. He downloaded SAME installer again, installed, problem was gone. I did install from content build (298 i think), got the prob, reinstalled (A) prob still there! Installed from Lite, problem gone! Lopsided reckoned his download got corrupted, but I had the same, several other had the same, boydet has the same today it seems. I think the installer got corrupted when the UPLOADED it! And there was a duff installer being downloaded for a while, then I guess they replaced it. It seems to be something like that anyway. Makes sense. I just reinstalled (A) actually 2 hours ago, from 300 lite. Cause i never bother to fix my prob - i just lived without custom skins. I check now to see if custom skins work... they had bloody well better do....
Yeah, I did do something different. After the new install did not work I re-downloaded the Lite version (always from the ISI site) thinking perhaps it was somehow corrupt. Then I proceeded as I always do (build on SSD, content on HDD) and it worked again.
Thanks to everyone who replied.. much appreciated. @Nikos, yeah I made sure the name wasn't more than 10 chars long. The skin shows up fine on my computer when online or offline, just does show up for anyone else. So it looks like the general consensus is a reinstall.... not looking forward to that. Will let you all know how I go. Cheers
