Track request: Isle of Man

Hi guys,

has anyone ever attempted to make the Isle of Man as a racetrack for rFactor 1 or 2? I honestly don't know anything about the track apart from that motorbike races occasionally taking place there.
The biggest question I have, and this goes to modders who should know the amount of work that needs to be put in, is it even possible?
I think it would be an interesting track to have in rF2 and definitely a challenge to the modders who will be making it.

 

It exists for rf1. How long did Targa Florio take to make? You are looking at least that amount of time (years!), if you have a team. Anything is possible if you are willing to take the time to do it.

 

A conversion from rF1 would be good enough for me. The question is who is willing to do it? Maybe ISI will do it.

 

The rF1 version is not the correct full circuit. While the 72km Targa Florio has been made there is no reason why the little shorter Snaefell Course could not be made. Though I am not sure how suitable it would be for car racing as it is very narrow.

Hi mate

We would all love this in rFactor2 however there is a few inherent problems.

First is getting the okay, this would take a private version Jim Pearson could check, he won't give permission with the nod of the head.

Second if you get permission you can only convert Isle of Man " revised" 15 mile version.
( he has made it clear he does not want more revised versions out there but
anything is possible. )

Third is if you don't do the first 2 you would never get permission for Isle of Man "full road" 37.5 mile version.

GPL tracks need heavy reworking to come anywhere near rF2 standard and Isle of Man deserves it.

To reproduce a GPL Full Road version would be a huge task, to do full scratch would be monumental.

As I said before I do not think it helps when his track is continually ripped for a decade against his express wishes and already in rF2, AC and SCE.

It would not be so bad if they looked okay but they are terrible.

It is called crapping in your own nest.

Then of course we do not know when it will be finished or if it will ever be released.
