@DrR1pper Would you mind counting up how many tracks you got installed. For me if I install over ninety something tracks I have same problems as you.
Interesting....did you also do updates from 280>296>300? I have about 105 location based mods installed. I've considered un-installing every single packages files and going through one by one to see if the fault lies with one of them but the thought of it is really not appealing as you can imagine.
Yeah for me it FINALLY works only if u dont install many thing. So I need to dis-install and reinstall if I want something else....well I can live with that better than nothing
one or some of those files are the culprit then as DJ was surmising to. Perhaps i'll start the long process of trail and error to find file causing the issue this weekend.
I haven't done any tests with old tracks remaining on my system to confirm what Jos is claiming, but i have reduced my number of tracks from 105 to 72 and everything is working fine now. No crashes in the single player with all tracks and cars.....i have yet to see about multiplayer as i haven't been online for a while. Thanks for the information!
Where the hell do you guys find all these tracks? I know some of them must be pretty shoddy, but still... xD
Not so much where but how....over a long time. There's also an all tracks and cars torrent somewhere on the forum that should provide you with everything.
I have had this occur to me twice now. The only thing that really helped me was a clean install. Meaning, delete all folders from rfactors main folder including the main folder and whatever ccleaner could find in the registry. Works for me everytime. The downside is of course you will have to install everything from scratch.
In my trials and tribulations with RF2, I have learned that some tracks when installed will give you problems (crashes). The best practice for me has been to install one new track at a time and driving it with at least an ISI car and a favorite 3rd party car. It you install a bunch of tracks at one time, it can be a nightmare trying to figure out which one is killing you sim. Tracks can give you problems, this has been discussed in the GP79 thread, the Howston thread and a few others.
Yes, I have noticed that too. Some track/car combinations won't work. Happens very rarely to me though. But then again I don't have too many cars and/or tracks installed.
We could always start a post wherein users indicate with a simple YES or NO, what tracks currently work with ISI default cars. That'd remove a lot of confusion.
Track limit fixed in Build 330 and higher. While infinite number of tracks may not be possible I have quadrupled the factor that made this limit an issue. I will look for a longer term solution after the next update.
