Changing gears sounds like dragging a sheet of tin over a gravel road , my soundcard is integrated on the MB and not a dedicated card but it couldnt be this bad its tinny and garbled shouldn't it be a rich sound with grunt , any one elses gearbox sound like its going to fall out or is this how its supposed to be ? Number of effects 32 sound effects volume 25%
With what car? All of them? There was one car I was driving that had a real fuzz to the gearshift sound, but it may have been a mod. Sequential boxes can be quite loud shifting, including any bangs from a quickshifter/spark cut. I also think I heard driveline lash with the Camaro, though it's been a while since I've driven it, so I cant remember. Vid below has some fairly decent sounds.
Gotta love that ISI have really nailed the sound of the FR3.5's XD. Way off in the distance and you can still hear the bang from the fuel burning, lol
Actually the sounds are very similar except my gearbox is much louder and more tinny , its in pretty much all cars and its kinda like treble is way up , my music fidelity and other games on this PC is great rich sound ..
That's got all the same sounds etc , but that sound is deep and rich , my rfactor2 in that car sounds tinny .
Nothing will sound better than this. It even gives me goosebumps! That feeling, all the emotion in one engine.
First thing is these are real life clips...so they will always sound 10X better than what we can get in games XD Are you talking about onboard with the FR3.5? The primary sound I hear when in the openwheelers like this is induction noise, from the whacking great hole above the drivers helmet. You won't hear the bang from the quickshifter/spark cut as clearly as you do sitting at the side of the track. If you could record a clip or find a clip on youtube of the tinny sound or something, then we can all have a listen and see if it's fine on our end. I've never found it tinny or light when I've been playing.
I strongly suspect the problem is with your soundcard/speakers combo. rFactor 2 can't make an average or poor sound system sound good.
The shifter sounds in most mods is WAY overdone IMO. I normally drop the multiplier in the SFX files, or simply remove the shifter sound all together.
