298 is not stable with certain mods. The problem is, the information on which mods is disparate and scattered. Instead of every person with the crashing issue having to uninstall every mod they have installed, lets compile the info and results of work we have already done.

This is NOT a discussion thread.

Just post the problem mod and what happened with it installed and what you did to fix it.

    Mod: Searspoint track

Problem: won't let the game start up

Fix: Delete the track from Packages, uninstall the track and make sure the folder is gone from Installed/Locations

Something else is preventing my rF2 from launching. I hope to identify it and post it here.

After uninstalling rF2 completely I did a clean install with the lite launcher and put all the files, alphabetically back into the "Packages" folder.(did not install them!)
I managed to filter out those files that caused the game not to start.
    -IS_F_Lexus
-national Stock Car Racing 2006 V2
    -SearspointRW_v135

    Hope this helps :)

    OK

On a fresh new install of the latest build, I have no 3rd party or even non installer ISI MODs (packages) installed; rF2 launches fine. I do not have IS_F_Lexus, national Stock Car Racing 2006 V2, SearspointRW_v135 in that folder. Once I placed the MODs in the packages folder without installing anything, the game crashes on launch.

To me this means there are potentially more mods causing the issue. Once I isolate it I will post it here.

    Problematic since first builds, still.....

Make a mod with every track any car you like.

Now scroll the Locations spinner offline.

Then in dedicated menu have a look at all the blank track spaces.

They didn't need to be installed. Being in packages was enough. Build 300 fixes this issue entirely, and is already released.
