I tried fixing resolution to Desktop instead of to Rift and it works, obviously won't be max resolution but will be less of a pain. Obviously unplugging my monitor should do the trick but would be even more difficult than it already is. Thank u all for the help!
Has anyone tried to use Vorpx instead of tridef in conjunction with this plugin? Vorpx already has correct CA correction and lens distortion for the DK2. If it can work alongside this plugin it would surely be superior at the moment. I don't currently own Tridef or Vorpx, and tridef's company seems to be on tough times, so who knows if they will update for dk2, and if so how much they will support it. I may eventually buy Vorpx since they are already actively working on DK2 support, and have some initial support out.
I have. Vorpx doesn't support RF2 in any mode that give decent 3D and RF1 support is broken (but useable) and had been since launch.
Apparently Tridefs support department are awesome, so I will try this more when I get back from work! One thing I did notice was that I also got black bars on the sides, noticeably more than in LFS. Do you also see this vittorio? Is it just because of the incorrect warping?
Vittorio you are awesome. I'd like to buy you a beer but since that isn't possible over the internet please let us know how to send you beer money.
Just seen this. The HMD options are most important, if you don't adjust them you will get bad results: HMD->World Scale: 0.06 HMD->Force FOV: Both HMD->Output FOV: 93 for DK2 (100 for DK1) HMD->Game FOV: 105 for DK2 (95 for DK1) HMD->OSD Depth: 0.50 HMD->OSD on HMD: On HMD->Output Quality: High HMD->Head Tracking->everything off! Restarting rfactor2 after setting this is needed! Tracking should be perfect. Did you correctly change C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\UserData\player\player.JSON "Car Vibration Mult1":0, "Car Vibration Mult2":0, "Cockpit Vibration Mult1":0, "Cockpit Vibration Freq1":0, "Cockpit Vibration Mult2":0, "Cockpit Vibration Freq2":0, "Exaggerate Yaw":0, "Glance Angle":1, "Glance Rate":200, "Head Rotation":1, "Look Up/Down Angle":1, "Look Roll Angle":1, "Lookahead Angle":0, EDIT: you probably have set player.JSON correct, but obviously not Tridef HMD parameters
hiya vittorio I'll take another look, where are these options to found ? : HMD->World Scale: 0.06 HMD->Force FOV: Both HMD->Output FOV: 93 for DK2 (100 for DK1) HMD->Game FOV: 105 for DK2 (95 for DK1) HMD->OSD Depth: 0.50 HMD->OSD on HMD: On HMD->Output Quality: High HMD->Head Tracking->everything off! Restarting rfactor2 after setting this is needed!
Just removed lenses to see screen use. Screen from left/right is perfectly used, you shouldn't see borders. Everything should be near perfect, like iRacing, i think even better because of better antialiasing. I get best VR experience I ever had (better than Elite D). So, if it's not near perfect, view (color aberration is wrong) and tracking, you have wrong settings.
Does seem like the black bars are a configuration issue. How do you set a FOV higher than 100 in rF1? I'm not seeing the black bars in Rf2, but unfortunately no tracks load when I launch rF2 with tridef. Any ideas?
I use the Tridef OSD and for rfactor1 and rfactor2 i set for DK2: HMD-Settings->Force FOV: Both HMD-Settings->Output FOV: 93 HMD-Settings->Game FOV: 105 Have to change instructions for Rf1Rift
Gotcha, I was going by the rF1 instructions to not use Force FOV both, but it does work fine when I use that. rF1 works great, but I can not load any tracks in rF2 with 3D on in the OSD. If I turn it off it loads, but crashed as soon as I turn it on. Probably a setting somewhere I have wrong. Kind of remember people having the same issue with DK1 but I can't remember what the issue was. Maybe HDR?
In rfactor2 I have HDR on, FXAA off, windowed off EDIT: In Tridef: Performance->Quality: High Performance->3D Texture Copy: Off Output->Output: Normal Output->Swap Left/Right: Off Output->Shift One Eye: Off Output->Image Stretch: 100 Output->Image Overscan: 0 Output->Soft Interlacing: On Don't know what wrong setting could cause this.
hope I'm not bugging you vittorio your being a great help, I've fiddled with the menu ( by pressing "0" ) I've scrolled down, the 3d 0 to 100 setting is here & stretch & others etc but never seen these: HMD-Settings->Force FOV: Both HMD-Settings->Output FOV: 93 HMD-Settings->Game FOV: 105 is there anyway we can make visual go black whilst the plugin delay is doing it's thing?
No of course you dont You have no HMD-Settings menu in the OSD menu? After you press Numpad 0 Its between the "Profile>" and "Close" Did You install TriDef-3D-Oculus-Rift-Add-on-1.0b8 ? And did you set in TriDef 3D Ignition->Tools->Display Settings.. 3D Display type to Oculus Rift and Game Resolution ?
hiya yes -I also selected oculus rift in the screen option no problem. no HMD options but I do get the menu box when I press "0" the 3d (1-100) works, the other options in there do not do much I think I best uninstall it & reinstall it
Not to my knowledge. In the delay time I don't have control in plugin code. ISI has done that probably because of some security problem they can't solve
Thanks a lot ! Great Piece of work. I have copied the plug In into the appropriate plugin Folders . I was not using rf1 but using GSC and used the rf1 plug in there, and everything is working fine. Had Problem with TriDef though , working with rf1 but not really with rf2 and as well GSC wasnt launching at all. I tried to run rf2 and GSC with the virtual Desktop application and it is working great. regards Sven
I did manage to get rF2 to work, changed a bunch of settings, not sure what it was that solved it. I'm sure I'll find out as I turn stuff back on again.
