18 months on your thoughts on rFactor2 ........in 25 WORDS or LESS

    after 18 months, I see a few things that are well done, but there are too many things that are simply wrong.

    & shadows under the distant car
    but I don't want to sound too keen

    Then I forget about the raindrops
    & drive it for a few miles

    This is great,
    I loved it straight.
    Graphics are clean,
    physics OH DEAR,
    they're best don't fear. :D

    RELEASE THE 3DS MAX 2013 PLUGIN - MY WINDOWS 8 WANTS IT. :D (yeah, this is just addon... lol)

    Timing is the worst aspect of this project. Modders, after 18 month, are still blocked. Leagues are at 99% still on Rfactor. This project doesn't take off yet. It is a real shame, has great potential, unfortunately unexpressed. It is not clear when it comes out the gold edition, and what it really means "gold edition". The big problem of Rfactor (strange behaviour of the car at slow speed) is still unresolved.

    Sorry, in all honesty?

    + Best Physics and real Vehicle Movement
    + Realism and real Motorsport
    - absolutely terrible outdated graphics (looks like a toony Game from the 90´s)
    no real Reflections on Cars, no realism shader like GT5 or Forza,
    no real animated Crowds and trees...etc.
    - To less High Quality Tracks...most off all looks like real rubbish
    - unpardonable high hardware requirement for this lousy graphics experience
    (i have I7 and 2 x GTX680 SLI, pCars runs on Ultra Settings
    in Full HD and 4 x SGSSAA and 20 AI...looks wonderfull.
    rF2 runs 35-50 Frames, and no Ultra Settings!!!!
    - No (realism) Damage System and realism Crashing sound
    - Very old and crappy main screen and the menu navigation
    (Retro C64 VGA 8 bit?)
    - Unbearably long development time (LFS says hi?)

    All in all, only alone the fantastic driving experience still holds some here in the SIM.
    It must happen very quickly (performance and graphics optimizations)
    Otherwise I do not see any future for this project.

    Sorry for my clear unmistakable hard words.

    Greatest potential to be the best of the upcoming simulators.
    Needs lots of polish and unmasking to see where it's going, less it trips.

    From another post I made:

    There's been a lot of discussion about the poor FPS of rFactor 2 at Silverstone, so I decided to do some quantitative, rather than qualitative, tests.

    I set details at their comparable settings for both detail, textures and all the graphics settings, and made sure that both .exes were making full use of SLI with my GTX 680s - nvinspector tweaks for rF2; AFR-friendly.exe for pCARS.

    The BMW M3 GT3 was used for pCARS at "Northampton"; the Nissan Nismo GT1 car for rFactor 2 at Silverstone. Both runs on "clear" conditions at 1300. Both run from AI by crossing the start line and stopped crossing the start line again.

    The results are fairly clear.

    Red = rFactor 2
    Blue = pCARS

    and rFactor looks like my Handy Game from 2006!

    That you can not compare!

    If you could share a picture from both games at the same location on track so we could see the graphics difference please?

    But you have to take the whole things into account then : Rfactor2 feels like no other sims yet! and pcars feels like an arcade game.
    Even the first Forza feeled more sim than pcars.

    They are not the same kind of games.
    They just have car in common.

    If that is how you feel what are you doing here wasting 18 months of your short life ?

    If your main thought is too many things are simply wrong ..........why bother ?

    I was more interested in what keeps you here.

    In IRACIN easily could get more FPS decreasing some options that would not affect the graphics. In all could get over 100FPS with graphics than rFactor2. Something is wrong in the engine rFactor2 chart and there are still many things to add, damages, raindrops ...

    I hope you guys can fix ISI over time.

    wat keeps me here is that its better than rf1 and cant go back no other reason.
