you need [ DXT5 ARGB 8bpp | interpolated alpha ] to make window skins if you use DXT 5 in gimp windows will be tinted white. so you can't make windows skins in gimp with the dds plugin. so you will need Adobe Photoshop 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 7.0, CS, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6. (texture tools do not work with Elements)
