To save time I place current build folders of the following in a safe place prior to doing an update or clean install.

    I. Packages
II. User Controller (Contains only my specific controller files)
    III. User/Log
    IV. User/player
    V. User/Settings

** I never touch the .rfactor folder**

My questions for the experts are as follows:
Will the contents of the listed folders adversely impact on the "next" build?
Is there anything else that would help save time as I do my next update/clean install.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Sorry - no answer for you. But along these lines after a manual update to a newer build to get past the auto-update not working issue I am getting a lot of file verification failures when tested. I'm guessing that a clean install of rF2 from the Lite version is in order and then re-installation of cars and tracks. But what do I need to keep from the original folder(s) since I had purchased the "Lifetime" option in 2012? I don't want to blow out my license data.
