Option to use tires from qualifying in race

Hello,

i would like to suggest to add an option, to enforce drivers to use the worn tires from qualifying, like they have to do in the F1.
It would make the race even more exciting and i guess it would change tactics a lot.

This is managed in the rFM of the mod in rFactor1, I hope it still available in rFactor2 ?

 

Yes, still works the same as in rF1, so you can 'force' however many drivers to use the tyres they used in qual. They will actually have tyres with the exact same wear the tyres they did their fastest lap on had when they completed that fastest lap (so another, slower, lap on those tyres won't actually increase the wear on your starting set, nor does the in-lap).

It still isn't possible to force drivers to use the same compound if you want to have multiple available in the race though (as locking them with parc ferme also removes the option to change during the race). So some work is needed, and hopefully at the same time a complete tyre-management structure is made available.

 

Hope so also Lazza. Tyre management would be a great addition, something I mentioned a long time back and would really make this game a true sim.

agree with that but only admins will not affect everyone, or so it must be the creation of the model that will distribute the admin.
And in order to avoid cheating of course.

 

even the ability to have a couple of sets of tyres for a weekend - would be nice to put an old set of slicks on after a rainy period has passed etc
