I started the old build before updating today - same error then and ever since. I already reinstalled now (restarts in between), but still get the 'no games available'. I didn't change a thing on my side as I was laying in bed with a cold the last couple of days. Honestly, wtf!?

    edit: reactivation didn't help either.

Uninstalled rF2 again, manually removed anything left.
    Restarted PC.
    Deleted .rFactor folder again.
    Restarted PC one more time.
Reinstalled rF2 (using the samplerbuild this time).
Reactivated. Password used is the one I got from ISI after using 'forgot password'. So there's no special characters.
I can launch a single player race. Multiplayer: 'No games available'. Serverlist in rF1 is working fine.

I'm seriously pissed now. I didn't change a damn thing. I didn't even do a windows update. I was lying in bed with a cold. Now this.

    Problem solved...

There are quite a few threads on this error in the archives. One reported that the error was fixed after installing windows updates. As I was getting desperate I wanted to try that... but windows couldn't download any updates, windows error code 80072EFD. I got kind of suspicious... After a little research on this error I stumbled over a suggestion to disable 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' which can be found in control panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings. I have no idea why, but this was indeed ticked in my settings. I unticked it and... rF2 loads the serverlist again (and windows update actually downloads the updates)!
