    Hi everyone,

LRP was version updated to v1.41 today. Reasons for this are twofold. Firstly, we want to bring things to v1.4x, regardless of what they are, this will make it a lot easier for you to see you have the latest, and for people to say 'grab version 1.4 of everything'. It also allows us to have a named 'technology step' on the content, and know that 1.4 on all content is feature compatible with build a, while 1.5 contains everything needed for build b (and you can be told that easily).

You will also notice on the mod, a php link ending with getmod.php. There is a new verification and download system, and we needed to put the track out again to get that out.

The reason why I didn't come here and announce it, which appears to have irked some, is because of the type of release it was. I'm not going to create a big fanfare for a versioning release. :)

Secondly, I just released a private project we worked on that (because it's fun) we decided to release to you in the Dev Corner. Formula R/C are scaled down F2 (used with permission) cars with R/C physics. They're meant to be driven from trackside cams, and it is relatively easy to make a track with cones, setup a single camera, and have some fun with it. We'll possibly release a few track layouts for this in the future, but as it is a side project, and it's just a bit of fun letting you have it, please see it as such. :)

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Cheers,

    Tim

You are a genius! I never even thought of using the 360 controller for it despite one sitting a foot away from me.

This is exactly what I mean, as I explained in my thread I started today. I know it's just a fun sort of un-official side project mod, but regardless, why isn't this stuffed announced on the game launcher in a news section, or on the homepage of ISI's website, like it just happens to be in some random thread.

No announcement, no notification, nothing, just post in a random thread on some forum and hope for the best.

    This really needs to change.

Probably the first time ISI have annoyed me XD
I have to redownload the whole LRP fileset, just for a versionnumber change?? Our internet in NZ is pretty terrible by international standards, slow and with very low data caps. Just irks me, as why on earth do I need to get the same textures/models/whatever.

Like Spinelli says, a newsfeed in the launcher would be great. I remember RACE07 had a semi news feed. More for advertising though XD
The one I really like is Rise of Flight, they have one that details everything about new planes and patches and changes, etc. I never go on their forums, but can keep up to date with core content.

how nice the r/c cars surprise:) my brother and me have driven those cars on circuits when we were young, to bad i don't have the controller anymore from back then and the adapter for the pc I won at an event playing a indycargame, which introduced me to pc racing games.

    Great fun just tried it!
If my memory serves me right i thought you were able to make more sharp turns, the turning circle seems quit big but I could be wrong. Perhaps it's something i can change with setup or need to use the brakes more to let it turn, if anyone has a suggestion how to setup for sharper turn-in that would be welcome.

PS which scale is it? 1:10 or 1:8(or other)?

and if you are gonna make a circuit in the future for this it would be great if you would make this layout, a circuit I raced in the netherlands:)

Agreed. I know rF2 owners who have no clue of these updates because they don't follow the forum/facebook/twitter.

News and updates should be handled by the launcher so that the player need not go elsewhere.

they did nothing with the track if I read tim message right, so that would be very logical
