Thanks for the tips, guys! I just got a GTX760 yesterday and got SoftTH for my 3 monitor display (can't use Nvidia 2d surround with Vista)

-The windowed mode tip allows me to run higher graphics settings and I went from 30-40FPS to 50-60FPS!
-Multi-view makes the cockpit view a LOT better

Windowed mode did nothing for my single 7970. Dropped down to 30 fps from 55

    Hi folks, slightly OT.

I have recently collected 3 19 inch screens and just tried them for about 2h racing.

Seems like i have a big problem racing with such a setup. I am getting totally dizzy somehow.
Can't describe it really, nor can i reach my lap times.

    Anybody a similar experience?
Is it just a "getting used" thingy?

I'll try it for a longer time but if nothing changes I'll switch back to one screen as i really don't like this feeling LOL.

You might have the field-of-view too high which gives a weird speed warp effect. Try this: select multi-view (which ensures side monitors aren't distorted) and then select something like 40 degree field of view (I use 35 with three 24" monitors). You may not be able to see a lot of the car's dash or instrument cluster but that's normal.

If it still happens with one screen you may want to try adjusting your Head Movement settings. Also, try playing outside of cockpit view and/or changing your FOV settings.

Probably most importantly, try to get your framerate up to to a very smooth level (for me, that's about 50fps with 3 monitors). Does it happen with rFactor 1 or Simraceway with 3 screens? If not, then it probably is your framerate and you can search on this forum to get it up to to an acceptable level...for me it was turning off multiview and using windowed mode as well as dialing down some of the graphics to high or medium). Outside of that, I would say that aerobic fitness and a stronger core (abs) are key to curing this.

I used to get sick with just about any first person game (and even sitting as a passenger in a car)...I changed my diet, swim every day, and simrace just about every evening. It's been about a year now since it's affected me, but I was able to sit as a passenger & driver at speed in a BMW M3 at the real Nurburgring in Germany a few weeks ago with strong G forces and did not even get dizzy.

    Thx!!

Multiview and a proper FOV helped a lot.
Sadly can't see the FPS display as it's hiding behind the bezel.

By proper FOV I presume you used a calculator to be sure it was accurate? I ask because with 3 19" monitors, the FOV would be around the 15 to 19 area.

Not really TBH. I've seen somewhere a link for a rf2 FOV calculation but can't find it any more. I use currently 29 but no 16:9 monitors either.
Actually I'd really like to know what would be the correct FOV.

Just change your screen resolution settings up or down a little and you'll see it then!

What distance is it from your eyes to the centre screen when racing?

Are your monitors 4:3, 5:4 or 16:10 aspect then?

Give me that data and I'll work it out for you.. or use my FOV calc here

Thank you, was looking for this tool. :)
The right FOV is 30.4 actually. The side monitors, do I need a specific angle for them or is it up to personal preference?
I still think something is wrong with my setup.....

with rF2 multiview on, your side monitors should be set at 45 degrees either side of the middle screen... with it off, they should be flat.... strictly speaking of course!

    The for the info!
Will try that. I collected 3 19 inch benq's very cheap for testing. If all goes well I'll need to by some proper monitors. :)
Really enjoy it TBH, adds a lot to the game.

Windowed mode is absolutely necessary for me to play with multiview enabled. Without it I get 5 fps regardless of graphics settings. Enabling it gives me 45+ depending on quality settings.

    I'm using 2x GTX670 on driver version 320.49.

Strange but I get just the opposite with windowed mode. Did some tests on Sebring. I just changed the multiview and windowed mode.
With multi and windowed 34-39 fps
    Multi ( not windowed ) 39-47 fps
Neither multi or windowed 68-90 fps

    Running 13.4 beta 2 ccc on a 7970
