hi all,my specs. asus m5a88-v evo phenmom 955 3.2@3.5 hd7970 vista 64 going to upgrade to windows 8 750 watt psu im looking to upgrade my cpu.i was thinking of getting the fx 8350 8 core 4.0 so ive been on the asus website to check that my board will run it and it says it will with the latest bios.my version is 1701..so i ring up overclockers just to check and he said my motherboard doesnt support the fx 8350 and i should get a phenom..i said i allready own the 955 and want to upgrade..he said there wouldnt be that much difference in performance so it wouldnt be worth the upgrade so now im realy confused on what to do...can anyone please give me some advice,
I think the FX-8350 won´t make for enough performance gain to justify the upgrade. The Phenom II X4 980 in that chart is only 200 MHz faster than your CPU and there is almost nothing to choose between them. Cheers, Marcus
