This is my favourite track and id love to see the much needed optimisation work done by someone.

Its very detailed, maybe there is TOO much detail in the places it isnt needed. E.G. How high poly are the infield parts? They dont need to be very details at all, as you dont really ever see them.

    System specs:

    CPU - AMD FX6300
GPU - ASUS HD7970 Matrix Platinum
    RAM - 8GB Corsair Vengeance

So my PC should handle this easily. I am getting on average about 25fps. Which lets be honest IS NOT enough for proper racing.

    Thanks for your interest.

You're right, the AIW has some bugs and the performance should be better.

For now, i' m working on my car and suspension Editor (which is very time consumpting), but I've learned a lot in the last month in moddeling.

So I'm working on Blackwood and expect a reworked Version, in spring.

    thank you for patience

    Leonardo (Peter) :)

I didn't know anything about this one. I'm glad this thread popped up. I wonder how many other things I might be missing out on.

    Hey Peter,
really love the Blackwood track - and ever did!
Recently I drove the AC version a hole day and wished the rF2 version would look the same way :D So I'm really looking forward to your updated version!

Thanks so much. This is one of those fantasy tracks that just works so well in terms of flow and layout. No one would suspect it wasn't a real track. Having a better-looking (and performing) version of it will be awesome.

    Hi,

as promised for spring, i released a reworked version Blackwood release version 1.30
    (tested with rF2 Build 946)
I integrated as much new rFactor2 special effects as i can.
Still not satisfied with the performance, but the graphics of Blackwood now is much better and the performance increased about 20%-30%.

I release a fixed version (1.30) of Blackwood track:

    Link : Blackwood_v1.30.rfcmp

    FIXES:
    ————-
+ improved icons and loading screen
+ increased sight width and improved performance
+ combined objects to out & infield_xx.gmts to get more frames.
+ added DRS moveable (de)activation signs
+ grandstands and People organised in gmts and visgroups
+ adjusted Objects lod view range
+ optimized visgroups (f.e. no people on test days)
    + added animated flags
+ added Starterworkers and cornerworkers with animation
    + fixed floor at pitbuilding
+ improoved nightlights and Track lighting
+ rebuild some objects to reduce flicker (pitbuilding)
+ track is xyz shifted to set grid start with position 0,0,0
+ removed col detection (trees, fences etc.) from objects to get more frames.
+ deformable flag for racesurfaceobjects only to get more frames.
    + added norainzones
+ added a TV Screen at pitbuilding (Jumbotron)
+ AIW bugfix AI now are waiting at Pit exit light on red
    + optimized posts for shadow
    + rearranged some Racetracksurfaces
    + Garagelength in .GBP adjusted
    + improved shadowing
    + and many more

It took me many weekends and I still have many ideas for improvements.
Feel free to give feedbacks and may be i'll find time to turn over your recommendations.

Hope you like driving on rFactor2s Blackwood as i do.
