^ I'm one of them! :) Well, actually, my computer is down right now so that's not even 100% true... But I'll be back on it once I repair my system :D

Yep, I feel bad for people who aren't using Windows 7 (and that includes OSX users).

How about Linux users? :) Because RF2 is literally the ONLY thing I use Windows for on my home computer and I loathe every minute of the engineering work I have to do on Windows 7 haha.

As far as operating systems go, I am a believer in the "whatever works for you" philosophy. If you are most comfortable in Windows or OS X, good for you. I'll stick to my Linux systems. :D

Linux and OSX aside, I just didn't realise people would still be on XP. Microsoft has had 3 OS after this, yes Vista was crap but it was a starting point for 7, then 8 and now 8.1 in a few months or so..

Putting this aside, I'm surprised ISI is even thinking of the XP users. Look at all the latest games on the shelves now and you will see most will say Win 7 as a min now and it's not just because of the DX11, it's because XP is now an unsupported OS by Microsoft.

Unsupported maybe, but it still works. And if you don't want/need DX11, already own XP, and want to play rF/rF2 which works fine on it, why pay for Win7/8?

Considering how small the sim racing community is it would be madness for ISI to NOT think of the XP users, I think.

Native linux support would be fantastic. I too would love to go back to using it as my sole OS. unfortunately I just don't think it would be financially sensible to invest any amount of time on such development.

Is linux really that good or do people just like to be edgy on the internet? It sounds like a massive ballache if certain programs don't work on it.

It's superb depending on your needs. And there are just as many programs that are Linux only as there are Windows only... It's just you don't hear about them because they are pretty niche :) That's not to say it's for everyone though, just as Windows/OS X aren't for me. ;)

Why pay for it you ask, what, besides W7 being double the OS of XP.

If you have decent later generation hardware and want the most from it for your sims it be madness not to run W7, I think.

    Linux/vmware for Minecraft. p

...and please don't quote or link some OS compare tests from 3 years ago. lol

Read real posts by real 2013 people that have used both. :)

There seems to be a strong correlation between systems running XP and systems which are experiencing downtime ;)

Wow..I know it still works on a " older system I have her to mess around on. It is running on, IBM OS/2 Warp. and windows 3.1 subsystem Oh that 16 bit powerhouse LOL

There still is a active community for OS/2 It is still fun messing with it to see what will run on it's environment.
    racing and flying simulation wise

XP is still a viable output for rF2 at this time based on our information. :)

I am somewhat disappointed that rF2 doesn't run on my Amiga 600.
