I also find my side, working on the isi shader (the shader for damage)
with good chrome tuning my car and I did not bug changing times on the track.

Give me please, it may be better than mine.

Actually it was really simple, its basic carbody shader, just had to make the fresnel effect settings right for it. Than you just add some nice color to the car, alpha is basicly white with shadow layer and specular texture is normal to.

Here is screen of my settings with car color I used.

Ah, it needs to be done in 3DS Max, I'm not an expert on that :)
I thought it could be achieved with dds texture and alpha channel, like when doing a skin.
Anyway, good job, it looks great.

Yeah, it needs materials to be setuped right to but basic role is playing with dds to. The color of skin must be right ofcourse and the alpha like i sayed.
Btw for anybody trying to do this with 3dsimed3, it will not work right, ive tested it.

I used almost the same thing as you.
Less power and in the specular fresnel CUBE I put 0.5 / 1.0 / 9.0

I will test your settings with one mclaren in the week
    Thank you

Yes, make 1.0 / 1.0 / 9.0 on cube fresnel and make car color darker, youre mclaren is to bright now.

Try to do it like Codemasters did it with their McLaren.

Diffuse Texture: Paint the Silver / Chrome Parts of the Car Black.
Specular Map: The Silver / Chrome Parts have to be white, or at least very bright. Everything Else has to be much darker, especially the sponsors.

Try at Mills Metropark. That has best environment cube I have seen, also Ales took his pictures there. ...And I feel that this is problematic as track makers should not have control over how chrome shaders in cars work and look like.

I think you can play on the alpha layer to get the red logo, i'm not sure at all.

    Cheers.

    Hi :)

I am trying to paint chrome on the ISI mod Formula Master.

I must use 3ds Max, 3 DSimed or only Photoshop?

    I do not understand ...

If someone could help me it would be nice

    Cordially, Nicolas
