    Counting initial post as 1, and then the others we get:

    1 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ... + 14 = 106

    If you sum any number of successive odd numbers (1, 1+3, 1+3+5, ...) you always get a square. Anyone know why?

    Well, in effect you are doing

    "amount of numbers" ^2

    So it's kinda obvious... you do mean "sum", right ?
