means that now you just install the stand alone component (car or track) and now its just like the old RFactor where you can join any game, any server as long as you have the specific car/track? Or do you still need to own all the tracks/cars?............ If you do still need all the tracks/cars, then how is this different from a mod???..........

Online - hoster needs to make vmod combining car component with track component (or multiple tracks) and start server with this mod. Users need to download this mod via "Get Mod" button or somewhere else from net.

Offline we must use "all cars and tracks".

Gjon said early that this system could be modified along the journey. My guess is that changes are on the way now with newer builds. Automatically generated vmods on the server, that are downloaded and temporarly stored on the clients...

+1 to that! And a GUI for setting up a server like in single player. Coose car, choose track and ready to go!

I'm still confused. How has anything changed then for online players? We still need to make a VMOD and you as a driver can't join the server until you have all the tracks installed, so what's actually changed?

And more servers should be using GetMod soon, right now some are not as the http transfer caused issues for them.

Exactly, no change yet. It will be a more direct method of going online though. As right now you have to download open wheel content to race GT content on a particular track only included in the open wheel content, etc.

Tim, can you tell, will automatic vmod creation by server be implemented in near future (if at all)? There was a talk about system being simplified about half a year ago, and nothing.

And when (if at all) will it be possible for user to change mod sounds or textures and not cause mismatch, like in rF1?
