    Hi

this problem has been there in every build so far

    I run everything maxed out
if I load up a track
    run a bit of practice
    go into the race
FPS are 5 to 10 down (only the first time you go into the race)
drive a little down the track
    restart the race
FPS back where they normally are (every restart is then back at the normal FPS)

Happens every time - sometime don't notice if FPS run at +70 as the dip does not impact. But if I'm at (say) 62 then the loss of 5 to 10 shows up as I dip below 60

Attached is a screen showing a loss of 5 FPS at Lime rock in the Skip. In the F3 at Mills the effect is 10 FPS

Sometimes the shadows are not as good as they should be until I restart so I think it may be down to an issue with that

Hope you guys can find the issue

Here ia one at Mills in the F3 - in this buiild its even more

you can see the plugins loading - but the FPS never recover ans remain low for the whole race unless I restart

so maybe a plugin thing then???

Which plugins are you using? G or cntrl G should disable Hardware plugins if you want to test.

I'll try that but given the plugins are working once I restart I don't think it can be the actual plugin

I'm only running FANLED's in addition to the ones that come with the install - however I had this problem before adding FANLEDs

I think it's to do with the skin code. Are you skipping qualifying?

It will still happen, when loading skins for just a few seconds (unless you don't have much memory, I guess), then it should be fine for the rest of qual, and the race.

So I would not mind it was only for a few seconds - the fact is, the FPS stay low for the whole race - they never recover.

Found another thing today which again may help track the bug down.... If when I start the race I have low FPS (drop of 5 to 13) and then I jump into another car for half a second then back to mine [+ on number pad then - on number pad] this also fixes the FPS (like restarting the race does)

Interestingly..... every now and again the shadows go all wobbly (like low quality shadows [like GT5 :)]) and others have reported this too I have seen. Doing the jump to another car and back again also fixes this issue

Hope this helps pin point the issue with the code

    Cheers

    JP

I can confirm this happens to me too. I gave this a test of my own, sat behind 15 AI on the grid. 35 FPS. Click Esc then restart, now I had 39 FPS.
I can also confirm switching to a different car then back to own also gets the higher frame rate.

Then you have a different issue. Either your settings are too high for your system, or your system has an issue with rF2. Check things like cpu throttling, etc.
