Don't laugh but should / can I use my driving force GT wheel instead of my G27 wheel?

This thread motivated me to take a look at my DFGT setup. I too like the wheel and may upgrade the pedals at some point. I have an old Act Labs shifter that is starting to malfunction. I am replacing it with a G27 shifter with the Leo Bodnar USB adapter.

Simple question...how long is the G27 shifter cable?

The cable on the shifter is actually quite long. I think 6 foot long maybe? My system currently uses cable ties to hold things together so it is a little awkward to measure, hehe. However along with the Leo Bodnar cable you would be looking at roughly 12 foot of cable total, so lot's of room for positioning.

DFGT has no center dead zone. One new development with it since build 118 is it has a bit of a tendency to oscillate from side to side when vehicle is setting still.
I know there is a setting in the .ini that will adjust that out. At least there was in rF1.

I get the oscillation with the G27 as well Jim, so not specific to the DFGT.

And do you know of any good pedals for the DFGT? I mean that are sold without a wheel, cause I don't see the point of buying a G27 only to use the pedals!

I am putting the Fanatech CSR Elite pedals on my Christmast list. :)

Lack of a center dead zone is a desirable feature, and introducing one via ini tweaks doesn't make an awful lot of sense. You need to be able to control the car with fine movements when high-speed straight-line driving.

I would start by looking on ebay to see if anyone has any for sale. Other than that, check out the csp's from Fanatec.

I use Fanatec CSPs with my G25. You don't realise how bad the G25 pedals are until you get your feet on some CSPs.
