I come from Belgium and there are a lot of long track over 10km... Belgium Bastogne - 1902-1906 : 86,1 km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Bastogne.gif Chimay - 1929-1959 : 10,870km Chimay - 1660-1984 : 10.450km (Chimay - 1660-1984 : 9.700km Chimay - 1996- : 4.520km) http://www.gdecarli.it/Circuiti/BEL/BEL Chimay 1926.gif Floreffe - 1925-1956 : 13.600km http://maps.google.it/maps?f=q&hl=&...reffe%201936.kmz&layer=&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=16&t=k Oostende - 1911 : 32km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Oostende 1911.gif Spa-Francorchamps - 1921-1929 : 14,982km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps 1921.gif Spa-Francorchamps - 1930-1933 : 14.863km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps 1930.gif Spa-Francorchamps - 1934-1938 : 14,950km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps 1934.gif Spa-Francorchamps - 1939 - 14,500km http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps 1939.gif Spa-Francorchamps - 1947-1956 : 14,120km Spa-Francorchamps - 1957-1978 : 14,100km (Small modification in Raidillon) For F1 championship, a chicane was added in Malmedy corner for security I think. http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps 1957.gif There are 2 or 3 tracks near Spa-Francorchamps before 1921 too , I have a map of them in a book, but I can't take it now. It is a list, but I think only Spa-Francorchamps, Chimay and Floreffe are interresting. And personnally, only one is interresting for VLM JT project. It is last Spa-Francorchamps which ISI have already done.
Guys....I guess we could open another thread to talk about other long tracks...we're putting tons of OT in a WIP thread....
There are old Brno too, but I stop now It isn't the subject. We can open a new thread for the long track (10km-...) if we want. (Tuttle overtake me for this idea ^^ ) Good luck for Targa, I just hope it can be better again than on rFactor and maybe more optimized also
No, he isn't! He said he hasn't got time to do Passo dello Stelvio and 5 other tracks, not Targa and 5 other tracks.
Just did targa florio rf1 with 37gp mod. Nice! This car/track combo should be a right of passage in rf1 sim community like century ride is right if passage in bicycling community.
Why don't we go and post long dream tracks of ours here instead of derailing targa topic? http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/7955-Long-tracks-to-drool-for?p=102990&viewfull=1#post102990
Mmm.. I may be wrong but I think you should re-read what feels3 has been saying... unless I am mistaken (which I obviously could be) I don`t think feels3 is going anywhere near Targa and has said so, he could do 5 or more smaller tracks in the time it would take to do Targa...
Since rF2 is built as a long term project, maybe down the road (after it's officially released) they should look at some of the 'power' circuits mentioned in this thread. These circuits seem to draw in folks who ordinarily wouldn't be interested...especially if done well.
If you still have room for people to join, I'd like to. I have around 9 years of 3dsmax and PS experience, published 3 tracks (Ušće, Banja Luka and Kičevo), however my skills have tripled since I published those. This year I relied on analysing, experimenting and creating assets for future tracks and learning than purely working. I am currently working on new Yugo mod (to be published soon) and a new "surprise" track to be published in few days (first track I am building without BTB but purely in max). I also started a team for building an upcoming New Jersey GP which progressed very rapidly (currently on hold). I haven't published new stuff a long time cause I get intimidated by VLN and Feels' stuff so I put my quality standards too high xD I don't have any actual rf2 experience however, but I guess it's easy to "catch up" with the new stuff. Anyway, I could invest a bit of my time to help the team. If you need modelling and texturing some assets like street furniture, vegetation, buildings.. My blog: http://nothkemods.wordpress.com/
I can vouch for nothke's good work. We've been using his tracks in our Yugo league. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHfMqZcbYBk&feature=plcp
@nothke I like your post. Thanks for offering to getting involved... and welcome. I watched the race on your track posted by DJCruicky. Don't sell yourself short. It was good.
