This is running incredibly slow even with graphics turned right down, then car just crashes and tumbles in the middle of the track without touching anything, on my Core i7, Nvidia GT540, 8gbRam
I have a similar issue. Games runs great for a few offline laps and then crashes. I cannot complete more than a few laps ever. I did a clean install of 101 to begin with and tried a few different driver versions for my gtx690. The screen goes black and the sound freezes. I get dumped to the desktop, but have to reboot to eliminate the frozen sound.
Here's the error details from my crashing issue... Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: rFactor2.exe Application Version: 1.1.0.1 Application Timestamp: 501ad095 Fault Module Name: nvd3dum.dll Fault Module Version: 9.18.13.479 Fault Module Timestamp: 4fecd626 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00239d93 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
It looks like an error in your nvidia drivers. The exception is a general access violation, like modules (nvd3dum.dll) referencing a file that doesn't exist. Are you sure you're cleaning the previous driver install completely and/or reboot after changing drivers? It looks like a broken video driver installation or corrupt references in windows register. Have you tried the latest nvidia drivers? Reinstalling directx also?
I did remove my drivers in safe mode using driver sweeper. I'm running the nvidia beta drivers....tried the last two versions and still same issue. The last two beta drivers both worked in build 90 so seems to be a combination with build 101.
Had exactly the same problem some builds back, had to search old drivers to get rid off, no problems in last builds, run current drivers too.
296.10 Safe, secure, hardly any loss in framerate...what more could a driver want? Don't know if they will support your 690.
Thanks for the tips. I will try the other option for removing the drivers....and try the WHQL. 300 series drivers support the 690.
Okay, so I tried the above recommended driver uninstall process....and I tried beta drivers (304.48, 304.79) as well as WHQL Nvidia drivers (301.42)....and I still get a game crash randomly anywhere between 1-3 laps into an offline race. The latest error is below... I tried another change....I uninstalled my ASUS DG sound card and switched to my onboard Realtek sound. Just when I thought I had it cracked....got this on my third lap... roblem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: rFactor2.exe Application Version: 1.1.0.1 Application Timestamp: 501ad095 Fault Module Name: StackHash_0a9e Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00000000 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Same Problem I am getting the same problem of a black screen and frozen sound requiring a hard reboot. Nvidia driver version 304.79 with a clean install of rF2 version 101. Version 90 did not have this problem with the same drivers, i.e. no system changes made except for a clean install of rF2 version 101.
