    Tims Tweets

Dev/Testing group has a revised schedule now. You should see a lot less #rFactor2 releases at the end of the week, more at the beginning.

    just wonderful =)

Much more organized, and they should have more time. We were pushing them to test things in very little time.

Must be very difilcult & maybe frustrating trying to manage / organise programmers/developers

Guess they work away at screens and others only have a vague idea of what it is they are actually doing & more importantly little idea of how productive they actually are on a day to day basis

I guess regular meeting that are documented with questions like "what stage are you at?" "what are you targeting to get done or at which stage this time tomorrow" etc then the next day ...."did you reach your target of ....... " etc

I wouldn't say that... It's mostly that projects take a lot longer than you might think. There is a saying... "The first 90 percent of the code accounts for the first 90 percent of the development time. The remaining 10 percent of the code accounts for the other 90 percent of the development time." ~ Tom Cargill
That's mostly due to the huge amount of tweaking, polishing, and bug fixing necessary. And these are going to be a factor no matter how well a project is planned.

Also don't forget rF2 is far from ordinary software development project and has lots of research kind of stuff so it's virtually impossible to do reasonable time estimates of how things are going to progress. Patience... :)

But if a modder were to make a mod of a car in the game (and the mod was free) that person would not need a license would they, Tim?

Forgot. I have an option on it. But with that it's a question of profitability for us.

If a modder is using the Intellectual Property of any company or person(s) it is their responsibility to check legal usage with that rights holder.

However, I am not a lawyer, and can't give you legal advice which would stand up in court, either.

don't know where to post this, but I remember a bit of a discussion in a thread about the cams being a little stale in rf2 so far, so wanted to post this as these a perfection - gt6. Hopefully this can be worked on for future updates.

would be really nice to see improvements here at some point.

rFactor 2 never will be graphically like GT6! I have seen this video this morning and I was thinking "this is a real life race"! and it's a 7-8 years old ps3!

The replays have always looked great in GT, but I think the "in-game" graphics are not that amazing. That makes sense since the hardware is so old. Textures are very limited. Also they don't spend as much resources on the physics as "real" sims like rF2. It's pure esthetics.... carporn:cool:
