Would love to work on mod but.....

    the new material plugin for max 2011 that came with the build keep causing an error and fail to load. Anyone else have this issue? If so what version of max are you running?

    Max 2010 works fine.
    Can you try and isolate the exact cause?

    sorry, meant to post the message it gives. I did try putting the max 2010 and 2012 material plugin in and it gave the same error.

    Ok, that kind of isolates the exact cause :D.

    Firstly, make sure your replacing all 3 plugins, material, texture and converter and make sure you also copy over the new coreshaders.mas.
    Then if you can just double check and roll back to the previous plugins and shaders, load them in and make sure they work, then put the new ones back in and make sure it doesn't work. (you might have to install build 69 into a temp. directory to get the plugins if you don't have a copy of them anywhere).

    I don't have max 2011 so I can't test this myself, we really need to get confirmation from someone else who is experiencing the same problem.

    In the meantime, if you still can't get it working, just roll back to the older plugins and you will have to just grin and bare it until this can be looked into.

    I posted in the bug's section and a guy replied saying he had the same issue. I checked 69 tools, they work fine, when i put the 85 ones in, it breaks.

    I was able to duplicate this problem by copying the Max 2012 material plugin into the Max 2011 plugins dir, so I think this could be the issue? Otherwise, the Max 2011 plugins are loading fine for me.

    i couldn't get 2010, 2011, or 2012 plugins to work with my version of max 2011

    how do i get a fresh copy of the 2011 ones? If someone wanted to rar up the max 2011 plugins and email them to me at speedfreak1624@hotmail.com that would be great. I guess its possible that I put the wrong one in there, or mine corrupted somehow?

    I have the same problem! 69 tools works fine for 3dsmax. v85 tools give the error View attachment 2536 :(

    I just tried again and this time it gave me a similar error, but different. at the end it said "Invalid access to memory location."

    You will have to reinstall the game again if you need to get them again.

    If your unsure about the plugins, just do a MD5 hash check, this is what you should get.

    It is possible that you could have got different things mixed up. When you copy the files from the rf2 folder to max, do you copy paste or drag and drop? You should copy and paste so that the original file is always there when you need it.

    Also are you using the toggle script to change between rf1 and rf2? Because if you are, you will have to re set that up with the new plugins and shaders.

    I have found the problem!

    I have in "hardwareshaders" nor the coreshader.mas from rfactor1 unpacked and inserted. If these shadersfiles are in the folder I get this error.

    Without old files works so how it should be

    Since I'm working on mods for rfactor1 but still I need these shaders
