try a fresh install with build 85 if you only updated the older build?

Got exactly the same thing on a fresh clean install...
In the update tab of the launcher v0.632 I've got this message :
Checking for updates. Please wait for result.
The current build is up to date.
Getting verification data. Please wait for result.
Invalid path submitted by this application or there is any error with the verification service.

After a deep clean on my pc, reboot and one more clean install, I can now start the game.

I did the update last night and everything was working fine, and also this morning. I started it up this night and it won't start.

i get the message from windows the program has a problem and shuts down. I checked the update section, saw it was different from last night, pressed query and verify, and got the following message:

Checking for updates. Please wait for result.
The current build is up to date.
Getting verification data. Please wait for result.
Invalid path submitted by this application or there is any error with the verification service.

It's strange it worked before but not now.

OK, check you plr. file and go to the line Game Description. SET IT TO ""
Then delete the cch file in your player folder.

i read this earlier at RD and it worked for me

"I had a mod called "1960s world class racing+all tracks v0.7" that was causing problems. I removed it via the mod manager and that fixed it. I had the same problem you are describing. "

Well did a clean install, ran it and it started up.

Installed and updated all mods and now the same thing, also when installed mods this time they where removed from the list, if they still had an update though they where still their?

    Very strange...

I had the same problem, i found out it happened after i installed the formula masters. When i uninstalled it, then installed the rest of the class updates and reinstalled the formula masters it worked. So i guess you must install formula masters last.

    Thx!

This workaround fixed it or me but I did not need to delete the cch file ...

I am running windows vista. I have installed rF2 build 85 successfully but after placing the mods in the packages folder they are not visible in the mod manager ? I have my core in C\program files\rfactor2 and the data/settings in C\users\name\documents\rfactor2. my data path points right to the correct folder and the mods are in the packages folder. I have spent the last couple evenings try to get rf2 running again with nothing but lost hours. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Now I once again have all the mods installed and updated but when I try to launch rf2 I get a message "no mods installed " but they are all installed according to mod manager??

Well after 5 more uninstall / re-installs and creating a folder everything finally works. I ended up putting the core files in c:\program files\rFactor2 and the data and settings in c:\users\name\rFactor2 (< this is the folder I created "rFactor2") Now life is great again LOL
