trying to join server 30 min..installed everything but keep saying f3 rookies 1.0 missing and get mod do not work..

SO IF ANYONE HAS A GOOD NAME WHAT WE SHOULD CALL IT ?


Then there will be Pack #2 and hopefully onto Sparks so we can mix packs for any room.

it didn't seem to work for me in steam, but did in non-steam

 

When it was published, there was a recurring issue I could not understand. All items were ticked as installed but it was still saying get missing components.
It wasn't until I cleared another folder where the vmods were being created that the correct one downloaded and installed.

My normal path for installs is D:\Rf2\Packages
The path where these vmods were was C:\games\rf2\packages

It is likely an issue that can be solved with proper versioning but for now, make sure there are no F3rookies vmods in either location.

 

Sent me details: names, numbers, nationality for flags and Ill resend asap.

It's something about the way DD's room is setup. You have to manually open up the launcher, go to the packages icon, and uninstall then delete everything you see that says F3 Rookies. If you don't exit the game and do that then RF2 will keep sending you back to the MP server list even though it shows the mod as being fully downloaded.

It happened to me and a friend not once but twice in the past week or two. We tried for a while and I fluked-out by randomly trying/guessing to delete all F3 Rookies stuff in the launcher-packages area.

I've never had to go manually uninstalling/deleting files just to be able to join a server since owning RF2 long ago so I think something isn't being setup properly on the server's end or there is some sort of glitch with the game.

If I wasn't a "hardcore fan" who always reads and posts in forums, I would have probably just thought the server or game itself was broken/glitched like my friend did and then proceeded to join another room. It's only because I hang out in these forums that it occured to me about messing with packages in the launcher. Most players wouldn't have any idea what to do, let alone uninstalling and deleting files, just like I wouldn't have any idea what to do if I suddenly couldn't join a Battlefield 3 or 4 online room, or a Borderlands 1/2 online game, or any other game.

 

It's versioning, as stated above. My bad but Durge did put testing in the title.

I have no idea what hardcore means anymore...
It seems to me that if you have common sense, you are hardcore.
If you know how to open notepad, change a 1 to a 0, you are hardcore.

Of course, deleting and reinstalling is the 1st thing to try if you are having issues no?
I can't get my head around this being only for the hardcore?

Harcore was when we tweaked our baud modems to run at a certain rate (custom handwritten firmware), to match the rate of the simulation we were running, reducing latency by 35%

Mat, the average user clicks on the game and presses start/play. Once, in-game, there are always in-game options to adjust which is just about the most tinkering one will do. If a player is trying to join a room and the rfmod says it's been downloaded but for some reason the track/room doesn't load and just goes back to the server list then I doubt the average user will lnow what to do.

Most players don't care the slightest bit about messing around with files and folders just like I, as-well as probably the average user, don't/doesn't care the slightest about messing with files and folders when playing Battlefield, Borderlands, Rocket Leage, etc.

 

Server name suggestion #1 . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or more seriously 'Global Racers'

People can call server what they like , just use the packs.
