Hi all maybe same one can help. I made some changes in object. Now in Xview (max 2010) i turned on flipped UVW faces and get same faces are flipped. I use only UVW mapping planar how to fix flipped UVW faces? Do not know if it will cause some trouble in the game, but is is not right.
Ah, Blender I can't remember which one, but one of geometry cutting operations had the bad habit of flipping some faces Still my favourite modelling tool, though.
Are you sure? It should suffice to select such face on 3D preview and edit it's mapping in UV editor. Of course when you select all faces in 3D preview you're not going to be able to fix it, but when you select one face you can modify it's UV coordinates without affecting connected faces. If remapping is faster in your case then it's what you should do, but it's not like it's the only way to go But probably faster for terrain surface since you can map it from above.
so, even Max2010 got a buggy cutter?. I've stopped using it a looong time ago. If i need to refine a terrain, i insert vertexes on edges than connect them (or insert a vertex in a poly). If i need to refine a building, i know that seems odd but i use the boolean tool to subtract space for windows, doors. I've to mention that uvw wasn't corrupted, and in a case, got two mapping channel, one diffuse and two for ambient occlusion. Not a single flaw. Try it. Cheers.
blakboks: yes i use preserve uvw Now i have other problem.. in the same object. I use new grass shader and now i got blended texture but the vertex alpha is 100%. if I set all vertex to 100% no blend textures. But if i change same vertex in edge (close to road) the blend is in center!!
Ok another find.. When cutting i must avoid t-vertices. http://www.cgl.uwaterloo.ca/~smann/Talks/CSC.98.02.18/f18.html The correct the shader problem i must to weld the vertex with problems.
If you have altered the geometry of the mesh while using the "blended grass shader" than you must reset the alpha channel info, then you will have to redo your blending. Tools > Channel Info > select the alpha channel and clear.
