From what I understand RFpro is used mostly as driver in the loop component testing and as a way for drivers to better learn track layouts and subtle car changes. I'm really interested in simulation and it would be fascinating to me if someone from ISI with a bit of time to spare could answer the following questions. 1) In terms of raw feel how close is RF2 to RFPro 2) In terms of the way cars move and handle is it generally the same in both products ? 3) Do teams run there own custom tire model and car models on multiple computers that then feed back into the simulation or is the core simulation still done by a single computer ? 4) Do some people that license RF2 have dedicated programmers to work on there tire model / car implementation ? 5) who provides the FFB wheels for RF pro simulators are they custom made or do ISI have a supplier for high performance non mass market ffb wheels? ( if so who makes them ) 6) does ISI use the same team of people to code both RF2 and RF pro ?
As far as I know rFactor Pro is a graphics/sound shell in which race teams insert their own physics through a plugin. So it's not possible to compare it with rF2. Tony
Without any knowledge of it, I would say that this is correct. rFPro is probably like a base to which they plug into. F1 teams would have their own extremely advanced physics models for the various bits of their cars which obviously they will need to be constantly changing given the number of iterations their cars go through during the season. In aircraft simulation, we use things like Simulink etc to implement our own models.
