On a serious note I think it's just lucky the jet dryer didn't roll back down the track, that could have been a lot worse.
If it had been on flat ground (like the bottom of the bank) it probably could have exploded yet again in an even bigger fireball, but because it was at the top of the bank a lot of the fuel ran down the track away from the rest of the still pouring fuel.

That race was one of the worst races I've ever seen. Daytona speed week I think they call it was HORRIBLE. :p

I'm glad the driver of the jet dryer was o.k. It looked like Montoya wasn't too concerned about him. Montoya was knocked down a few notches in my book after this incident.

I'm not going to argue with you. It's pretty clear by the video he looks over at the truck for a split second and turns his back on the truck. There was nobody near the truck at the time. No need to argue what is clearly presented by the video. ;)

But it's only NASCAR, not even real motorsport ;)

Not sure about dryer, but realistic fire effects would be just awesome. Like where fuel tank can rupture or explode and the gas could ignite into flames.

Except something on Montoya's car failed, that wasn't a driver mistake..

On the other hand is Montoya originally the only NASCAR driver who comes from the f1-series atm, so thats a bad analysis ;P.

I flew over to the States and witnessed the whole drama, typical British weather followed me but ended up turning it into a Night Race which was awesome!

I get the feeling you don't like anything that involves Strategy 8)

I'm just taking the piss mate ;)

I'll watch NASCAR when they're on road courses, I just don't find ovals terribly exciting.

I dont like NASCAR on road courses (although I enjoy Marcos Ambrose showing them how its done!) the cars are simply not designed for them, seems they do the two races a season just to please the road course lovers.
Experiencing a pack of 43 cars doing 200mph within spitting distance however is simply breathtaking, one of the most exhilarating things I've ever witnessed!

Aye, NASCARs on a road course, to me at least, feel like lumbering monstrosities but will cling to an oval well enough and feel solid enough that three-wide on heavy banking doesn't feel like a one-way ticket to a fiery wreck.

The road course racing is quite good imo. The CUP cars are around 3600lbs with close to 900HP and the drivers are VERY aggressive. The one DTM driver who raced for team Red Bull at Infineon said that was the most fun he's had in awhile racing and they kicked him around at the end of the race.

The Nationwide races at Road America and Montreal are fun to watch as well. Those cars weight 100lbs less with around 100 less HP.

Not true, Scott Speed is over in NASCAR as well. He is only running a part time schedule this season, but he was with Red Bull for a few seasons.
