As above for RF2 and our racing mates. Is there any commercial 24/7 multiplayer servers available please? I already rent an LFS server from '500 servers' and asked if they would be interested but have had no response from them. Please can you help anyone?
I rent Mine From NRT Servers @ nrtservers.com they give you 42 slot server for $50 great ping also they has a Teamspeak Live support that they are always in making Support really easy and Ticket Free, At this time Of beta they are not to keen to add any addons or plugins unless you can confim 100% it is already working on a Dedicated server If you do go Tell them Dany Mitchel Sent you over
We did a check on server renting recently and it seems to me that its either good-and-expensive or mediocre-and-cheap at the minimum . Mediocre can mean bad performance, fewer slots, but also resticted acces for admins, possibly only .ini files updates via ftp and of course as with anything, when going cheap the client-service often remains to be desired. Dedicated servers are just expensive as hell :/
Thank you for your comments. I currently rent a server from 500 servers for LFS and that cost me £16 per year for 47 slots. Mind you that was with a discount following time out from the previous year. When you think that all one has to do is to devote 'a computer' solely for M/P as some do even now, it is pretty expensive at $50 per month! Does 'NRT' have a monopoly?
Used this service for my Rf1 server in the past, Very happy with their service. http://www.hostilecontact.com/products.asp?cat=147
Why not just get a good dedicated machine that can host everything you wish all at once? Then you have many many options for the future.
£16 per year for 47 slots thats a great deal man, i dont know how they do that tbh. fingers crossed they will go rf2 as well and let me know if they do! Kieth, its usualy a bandwidth issue. I got a lightning fast connection and i dont think i can host a 40 car field with no issues. Did some tests with rf a few years back and max seemed to be 20 cars or so before all the different connections started to mess up stabillity.
You can pay for servers or host servers from a 2 pc in your house the upload issue you over ride by set dedicated servers custom then max down and upload speed even if you just have 1 512 kb upload !! That way is dedicated servers take really low % upload and works fine with no lagg or that other drivers get high ping I have test that myself that i set 1 server at 12 kb up and 12 kb down with 3 drivers dedicated servers get 95% upload 85% download so server get all high ping and also start to lagg !! I was in a server thet they use to low upload data rate so all have high ping and server lagg thx to that i inform them that they set up server wrong i get banned lol thx for that Les Casse-Cou Megane server homesite http://france--belgique.forumactif.com well will not admins listen when i wanna help they can drive at this servers that lagging arround . But if i max upload and download in dedicated server a server with 30 drivers get with 3 MB upload 60 % 10 MB upload 30 % upload 100 MB upload 3 % i have had all sort off this upload speed to test also if the server get bad start to tweek the settings that you can do on rent servers also so long you have acess to edit .. Here is some tweaks that i use on rf1 in rf2 the server tweakings works http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...ost-what-you-find-usefull-in-Tweaking-rfactor
Hello, Price from NRT I think is ok. Perhaps with less slots can give you less price. Here in Spain, Interxion - Madrid, we rent rf2 servers with a higher price than NRT: 20 slots // 30€/month 25 slots // 38€/month 30 slots // 45€/month Every country is different in prices. The price for housing, the price of the MBit/s, ... they are different. If we host in other datacenter, with bit higher pings we can reduce price. But in gamer-hosting, and our clientes, we prefer high price and better service. Not over-selled hosts and nice support. RFactor2 use more resources of cpu / ram than rF1. Thats why its more expensive rf2 than rf1. And perhaps (I dont know it) LFS use less resources than rf1 and than rf2. If needed an rf2 server in the country of NRT ... I will rent it to them.
We're using Host Europe Virtual Servers. 16.99 euro per month gets you 30 slots and fast. I've been really impressed with how it runs. In matchmaker look for ARI if you would like to test the room out. The only problem is most of the website is in German but support is in English and are more then willing to help out.
It is 2012 !! internet is not on 56K modems longer.. Count out electric bill what it cost to have a pc/server online 24/7 to host all things with ADD 5 TB hard drive use 103 slots server x 30 servers. Then search around on internet what it cost to rent a server that have same specs . Is it cheaper to host self i suggest that is best idea. Is it a lazy leauge with a lot donations well go for the rent server.
