I wasted 2 weeks tweaking my PC and rFactor2 without any significant result. Can drive a track without much stutter but still there. Online or single race with more then 2 opponents is unplayable. My conclusion is that this game isn´t gonna be ready on a short base of time. Reading through the posts on this forum I think that there is much work to do. Subscribed to iRacing for 3 months. (Physics seems to feel outdated since I´ve played rFactor2.) I wil keep track of rF2 but I won´t waste any time with it before there is an update. Bought a lifetime licence so eventually I will come back. Just wanted this of my chest...:(

Put your Video Card to Quality with all AA/AL On 16X Max all setting on video card., Then set all ingame settings to FULL- go play off line and lower setting from InGame until you get 50-60 FPS In Traffic!
There is 1 fix for the Stuttering - Flush the Prior frame works fairly well.
Also make sure drivers are updated!

Understood, just be sure to know you can get a refund via the purchase tab if you feel you are in this too early.

Tnx Tim but I would never think about refunding as I hope and also believe in the future of rF2. I will be off for limited time but eventualy I will come back for rF2 and its wonderfull community. @Mitt I've tried everything but Tnx anyway.

I'm also getting tired from tweaking the game.

Tried every solution posted in this forum.
Steady 60 FPS but the slowmotion in online races is killing me.

60 FPS on all track with settings on medium.

    system specs:
    Q8200
    HD 5770
    4 GB ram
    G27.

skip updates from 0 to 1 in controllers.ini doesn't help

lowering all details to low doesn't help

Flush the Prior frame doesn't help

when lowering all details to low the frame rate doesn't increase!!! Its stuck at 60FPS. 1 AI or 20 is the same. same goes for online.

Out of topic, that response is so much like The IT Crowds series: have you tried turning it off and on again? :D

After 2 weeks of tweaking rF2 runs VERY good on my "outdated" system.
    Asus P5Q
    e6750 core duo @ 2.66 GHz
    4 GB DDR2
Sapphire Radeon 6870 1 GB version
    Running 3 monitors 3840x1024
    Thank you very much ISI!;)

Having not seen that show I don't know how to take you're comment.
I'll take it as a good comment. ;)

Yes Mitt, the OP should have posted his specs.

Dave, good to hear you're happy.
It's a shame multiview is such a FPS hog at the moment.
I'm running 4990? x 900 with playable FPS with a good size grid.
I hope you served you're penalty for speeding in pit lane. :p

    just to remember ....

I got great improvements of framerate with

    - reduce sound to 16 (may be this helps only for sound chips on mainboard)
    - run rF2 in a window (but native resolution of the monitor)
    - set the rear clipping in mirror view to 80.0000 ( in .plr)

    You. Dont. Need. 60fps.

You just need it to never drop below 30.

Cue angry hordes - but sorry - you dont. Simple as that.

The thread is about getting something off my chest. Like I said in the last sentence. I'am aware of the fact that this is a BETA. But I played Beta's before and I've never experienced so much flaws (except for F1 2010 that was officially released not even beta worthy). I've posted my specs in a couple of threads and compared them with others. If you think it is the system I'am running and not rF2 then explain to my why high end pc's have the same problem? My specs:

Amd 955 3,2 (also tried OC up to 4,2 ghz)
    M5A9XX mobo
    Ati 6870
    8 gb ddr3

@Dave-Millard are you running eyefinity or softth? And can you tell me wich tweaks gave you the performance boost you needed?

@the rest. Tnx for tips and tricks but I tried every tweak by the book. One by one and combining in different setups etc. Shadows and mirrors of gave me the best performance but I couldn't get rid of the stutter.

Sorry to hear things haven't worked out 100% for you Sam, glad you have decided not to just give up. :) Hopefully it hasn't been a waste of time as what you have done tweaks wise should serve you well when you return to rF2. I really hope you can get it sorted out, perhaps one of the updates that we will get for the beta may help so it might be worth keeping rF2 installed and giving it a shot after an update gets released. Can be really frustrating I know so I understand the " getting it off your chest " bit. :) At least you know the ISI team does care, they can't answer everything or fix it all right now but I am sure they are working as hard as they can on getting the various bugs ironed out. Hope to see you around on track somewhere and good luck. ;)

Instead of laughing at people - how about trying to justify yourself instead. As a past professional gamer and a lifetime casual gamer, I would like to hear your oh-so-wise reasons for laughing. Because I have some pretty good research to back me up - mostly related to first person shooters - but then it is clear that you need a higher fps in FPS's than racing.

Some facts: The average human reaction time is longer than 200ms. Almost no one but the best of the best can achieve less than 100ms. (EDIT: Correction - basically no one can).

So sorry "magicfr" - you may be French AND magic - but the facts show you up. As long as your fps doesn't drop below 30fps (at the worst moments), you are still receiving information to prompt responses at 3X the minimum speed required for the fastest minds on the net. If you cant achieve an average fps of 60fps - I wouldnt worry - no matter what some wannabes might tell you.

    Recent research results: http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/stats.php

    Lol. French. Rude.

Good luck OP - but I wouldn't stress. Simple as that ;)
