For the next beta relase... the car without undercar shadows is unwatchable For next simple step =) this is a little thing i assume
I believe it is something to do with the LoD in replays. As the car gets closer to the camera a shadow will appear.
i have the dynamic shadow in game. I mean the second shadow, undercar, for less luminosity. The best result is the conjunction of these two type of shadow. The undercar shadow now is missing
Yes, static shadow is a must for better realistic experience. Also, dynamic shadow is to much jagged even with shadow blur ON.
normally there is always a more dark zone, due to very small spaces between the undercar and the road surface. This is reality =)

yes a undercar shadow will make it look much better, even showing when shadows are turned off. nothing under the car just looks very naked, and not realistic.
True, but couldn't that be handled dynamically (yes, it'd be heavier, so what if it's an option)? Seeing we have a moving sun, depending on the course and time of day I could easily see a situation where the underside gets at least partly lit. EDIT: And yeah, occlusion would be a big thing for the game. I haven't counted how many different occlusion techniques they use in pCARS, but they really help make the graphics seem more real. Or at least pleasant to look at.
Shadow occlusion, hell yeah! =) By the way, what does sun occlusion actually do, if anything? The effect is a bit subtle and I don't even know what I'm looking for. =) EDIT: Found out.
So, aside from the fact that the shadows pop away in replays, everyone is getting no undercar shadows at all at night ?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but since it's a request related to shadows as well--I'd like to see shadows (and LOD's for that matter) be a product of distance and FOV/size on the screen. When you're watching replays where they use a 'realistic' camera setting (high zoom/low FOV), the car is very far away, but taking up a lot of screen area. It's a bit annoying to watch the car 'float' over the geometry for 3/4 of the shot (without shadows) and have the shadows pop in and out briefly when it gets near enough for them to be rendered. I would think this would apply not only to replay cameras but also driving cameras.
