i really need help. i cant take the lagging anymore. i have tried everything to stop the lag. it some times works but it turns bad in an instant. when the game lags the screen freezes but when i press pause i am off the track or im somewhere else then the screen is. also when i press the driver AI the game works fine no lags at all even when i put all the video settings on high it still works it does lag a little but it dosent make any sence and multiplayer works well to but i dont go online as much. even putting all the video settings to low or off it still lags like crazy. i dont know what else to do i cant buy a new graphics card because i have a labtop. and i dont want to spend $100 on new stuff.
    im running on vista
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530
    3gb Ram
    intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo cpu @ 2.20Ghz
i am hoping you guys at ISI can find a way to fix this in there updates
    can anybody help?

Your problem, sadly, is that your computer is well below the required specifications in terms of both CPU and GPU.

Almost certainly not I'm afraid. Your laptop just isn't powerful enough to run this game. The 4530, especially, is well under spec being about 1/6th as powerful as the 3850.

but dosent make any sence that when i turn on the driver AI there is no lag what so ever.
and i dont care about how the games looks all i care about is the performance.

It will run smooth with the AI driving because the game engine is not having to deal with controller inputs and processing FFB.

Not to mention AI physics are greatly simplified compared to player physics and their cars are almost certainly lower-detail than yours due to the settings you've turned on. Not much anyone can do, the minimum stated GPU for the game is a 3850, you have a 4530, it doesn't even come close to matching up.

I would never recommend a laptop for gaming.

No. The way it works for ATI is thus:

The first number designates the series - the HD3850 is part of the HD3 series, the 4530 is part of the HD4 series. Series' use different technology, for example new architecture, manufacturing processes and the eternally shrinking circuitry. One of the major differences is which version of DirectX a series supports - the 8 series used DX8, the 9 series used DX9b, the X1 series used DX9c, the HD2/HD3 series used DX10 and the HD4/HD5/HD6 used DX11.

The second set of numbers denote performance within that series. An 8 or 9 denotes a high-end gamer card, so an HD2850/HD3850/X1900 denote the top performers of the HD2, HD3 and X1 series'. Each series pushes the performance envelope more but an HD3850 is still going to outperform an HD4650 or similar. In layman's terms:

    <series>9XX (EG HD5950 or X1900) = Extreme performance
    <series>8XX (EG HD3850 or X1800) = High-end gaming performance
    <series>7XX (EG HD5770 or HD6750) = Budget gaming performance
    <series>6XX (EG HD5650 or X1600) = Mainstream performance
    <series>5XX (EG HD5550 or HD4550) = Budget mainstream performance
<series>4XX or lower = Sod it, that'll run Word.

The second number is a subset of performance. This is typically seperated by RAM and clock speeds for example:

<series><number>90 (EG HD6890 or HD4890) = Likely overclocked and fat with RAM
    <series><number>70 (EG HD5770 or HD6870) = Highly clocked/maximum RAM
    <series><number>50 (EG HD5850 or HD4850) = Well clocked/near-maximum RAM
    <series><number>30 (EG HD4530 or HD4830) = Lower clock speeds/reduced RAM
<series><number>10 (EG HD6310 or HD3210) = We left a cup of coffee near the boards
<series><number>00 (EG HD2100 or HD3200) = Coffee is too expensive to waste on this

You really need to look up benchmarks, ignoring the names of the cards ultimately. In equivalency an HD3850 has 150% the power of a 4650 or thereabouts and a 4650 is about 3 or 4 times faster than a 4530, especially as the 4530 is a mobile GPU.

No, you have a mobile ("Mobility") GPU, which are less powerful than their desktop counterparts. They are designed for maximum battery life, not maximum performance.

Also, as others have mentioned, your Core2 Duo CPU is far below minimum specs too.
